PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

DRYWATER - BACKBONE OF THE NATION (CD/GEARFAB)

CD reissue of this massively cool and hideously rare 1973 rural Pennsylvania private press jewel, originally released on the legendary RPC custom label in an edition of only 25 copies. Small town working class teen ethos expressed with raw precision. Zero hippie hangover or arty posturing here... The sound is essentially split between the two dominate modes of polarized male youth psyche: alternating moody, dejected, love scorned melancholy folkrock with wasted, howling, proto-punk garage fuzz brain fry... Fuzzed out guitar, luxurious 12 string guitar and driving drumming! Comes in 4 page digipack with lots of band photos.

DEADSMOKE - MOUNTAIN LEGACY (BLACK) (LP/HEAVY PSYCH SOU)

'Mountain Legacy' is an album exploring something fundamental to humanity: isolation. The illusion of silence, which in nature is a non-existing concept, is perfectly described by the synthetized sounds and noises from Deadsmoke's newly acquired member Claudio Rocchetti (from In Zaire). His sounds were missing on the self-titled release, but now the old tracks have been enriched and new ones have been composed providing a consistent psych-disturbed synthetized sound. These six tracks, featuring deep guitar fuzz and growling bass, take the listener on a journey through the woods, alternating slightly groovy rhythms with sludge-doom cadences.

KONTIKI SUITE - THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH (LP/SUGARBUSH)

Kontiki Suite's critically acclaimed 13-track debut-album (2012), 'On Sunset Lake', wowed lovers of melodic country-rock and folk with a psychedelic twist. For fans of The Byrds, Beachwood Sparks, The Jayhawks and Wilco, the eagerly anticipated second album, 'The Greatest Show On Earth', sees the band take its craft to another level. "A bumper thirteen tracks of Byrdsian jangle, late '60s folk-rock vocal harmony and West Coast haze." ~SKRBBLR.com. Limited to 300 copies.

TELEPATHIC DREAMBOX - TELEPATHIC DREAMBOX (LP/DISCORDIA)

Telepathic Dreambox is a musical project that came to life in Taranto, Italy, in late 2014. The hypnotic guitar parts, fuzz pedal and vintage organs create a unique and at times dark sound, impregnated with shamanic choirs, obsessive rhythms, a gong, reverberation and infinite delay. Limited to 300 copies on purple vinyl.

MAAT LANDER/ORESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE - SPLIT CD (CD/CLOSTRIDIUM)

The music of both the Russian trio Maat Lander and Öresund Space Collective, eight members with a more international background, is mighty trippy stuff. This split features two long compositions clocking in at 42 minutes in total. Spacerock at its very finest! Limited to 300 copies.

TIMEMAZINE - ISSUE 10 (+CD/+7"/BLACK) (Mag/TIMEMAZINE)

The special 10th anniversary issue of this psychedelic fanzine, dedicated to the '60s and beyond. On offer are 100 A4-size pages (not photocopied) in a hard laminated cover. Entirely in English, you may expect interviews with Johnny Echols of Love, Aleck Janoulis of The Nightshadows, Astral Son, Big Foot (solo project from Dor Koren of Tree from Israel) and Sir Robin & The Longbowmen (Germany). GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

VARIOUS - GRAVEYARD TRAMPS EAT THE FORBIDDEN... (CD/TUTMAN)

...CITY DOGFOOD' - Nearly 30 years ago, a now legendary LP by the name of 'Forbidden City Dogfood' was unleashed on an unsuspecting public. The release on Vip Vop Recs spawned many imitators such as 'Wavy Gravy', '4 Hairy Policemen' et al and paved the way for the equally legendary 'Purple Knif Show'. What few folk knew was that 'Forbidden City Dogfood' was actually less than half of the compilation made by Lux Interior. Now, for the very first time, the entire recording is available, weighing in at well over an hour of crazy, whacky sounds from the Maestro of Mad himself. Remastered from the original source, these obscure rockabilly, surf and R&B tracks are interspersed with B-movie trailer clips and wigged out voice overs. This one won't be around for long, so get it while you can. TRACKS: 01. John Buck & The Blazers - Forbidden City 02. The Kingpins - Ungawa 03. Florence Pepper - China Rock 04. Jack Costanzo - Cat Walk 05. Rick McGuire - Space Craze 06. Homer Denison Jr. - March Slav Boogie 07. Rod McKuen - Noisey Vilage 08. The Dynamos - Wow Wow Yea Yea 09. The Phantoms - Night Beat 10. The Sliders - The Lamb Shake 11. Wes Dakus & The Rebels - Sour Biscuits 12. Wes Dakus & The Rebels - Dog Food 13. The Rivingtons - The Bird Is The Word 14. The Sparkles - The Hip 15. GORIES - NITROGLYCERINE (BLACK) (7"/WAAGHALS)

The 2017 European tour edition of this 7-inch, originally released in 1990 by New Rose. Backed with 'Makin' Love', this edition on BLACK VINYL is limited to 250 copies.

PILL FANGS - PILL FANGS (LP/SUN STONE)

A cool LP of New York '76/Lou Reed-type mono madness, though comin' outta North-West England. So you like fuzz pedals, mono records'n'junk? Only 20 copies available, so pick this one up ASAP!

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

HEROD, GALEN - WORD & MUSICS (2LP) (LP/VINYL ON DEMAND)

'RECORDINGS 1983-1988' - Galen Herod issued several cassettes of homemade modular electronics in 1980-'81, three tapes of improv/post-rock/synth recordings with Phoenix-area compatriots Metalmonkey, and in 1981 he started the minimal synth/wave-project Tone Set with Greg Horn. In 1983 he went solo again with the 'Glad To Be A Human' cassette. Besides that album this DOUBLE-LP set further features songs from 'Food For The Mood', 'Bite The Wax Tadpole' and 'Where The Heck Is Mr. Fun?', released between 1984 and 1988. Over the course of these cassettes his style evolved from homebrew synthpop to a Dinosaur Jr. sort of thing, but it's all quintessentially Galen.

ROCKPILE - LIVE AT THE PALLADIUM (CD/VOGON)

Rockpile were a British rock and roll group of the late 1970s and early 1980s, noted for their strong pub rock, rockabilly and power pop influences, and as a foundational influence on new wave. The band consisted of Dave Edmunds (vocals, guitar), Nick Lowe (vocals, bass guitar), Billy Bremner (vocals, guitar) and Terry Williams (drums). This previously unreleased live US radio broadcast includes the hits 'Cruel To Be Kind', 'I Knew The Bride (When She Used To Rock'n'Roll)', 'Girls Talk' and a previously unreleased version of 'Jailhouse Rock'.

VARIOUS - STUDIO 12 RECORDINGS 1980-1984 (5LP+7") (LP/VINYL ON DEMAND)

This compilation is dedicated to Studio 12, the Dutch '80s post-punk cassette label that was connected to Haarlem's Ultra movement. In the early '80s, artists (not just musicians) mingled in squats to create a unique blend of (minimal) electronics, drones, soundscapes and tribal music, in the true DIY-vein. Bands s.a. Nexda, Smalts, Vitaal, Die Krü Blodt and Cargo-Cultus still sound fresh and exciting today, but had only limited distribution back then. This box includes tracks from the compilation tapes 'A Thousand Faces', 'Muzak For Critics', a K&I tape called 'Promise, Promise' as well as several Nexda cassettes.

AREA BOMBARDMENT - REPUBLIC (CD/LICHTERKLANG)

'Republic' marks the 10th anniversary of this Irish martial industrial project. This work was almost lost, forgotten on the hard-disc for six years for various reasons. The tracks have been re-worked and re-mastered with some additional bonus stuff included. 'Republic' is a conceptual work about the Irish volunteers who fought a guerrilla battle with the Irish Republican Army against the British, who occupied the country during the 1920s. A sad history that reached a sad turning point with The Burning of Cork.

CANSHAKER PI - BOOMSLANG FOR ED (LP/MILKCOW)

The young bunch of Canshaker Pi squeezes out songs faster than you can squeeze out the pimples on your cheek. Only half a year after the debut-LP on Excelsior Recordings here's the follow-up. 'Boomslang For Ed' collects the band's two EP's as one twelve incher and shows off well how the quartet gained its infamous live reputation: this is catchy, heavy guitarnoise in the tradition of the noisy grunge bands from the early '90s, but with the additional coolness of bands such as Pavement and Dinosaur Jr.

JAZZ/AVANTGARDE

MCPHEE, JOE -& BRYAN EUBANKS- - MY UNDOCUMENTED ALIEN CLARINET (LP/PENULTIMATE PRE)

'My Undocumented Alien Clarinet' is a beguiling document of a performance held at Alternative Books, Kingston, NY, Sunday, August 6, 2006 under the auspices of the Pauline Oliveros Foundation's New Vanguard Series. It captures a unique intimate improvisation exploring the outer reaches of the form. Joe McPhee: b-flat and e-flat alto clarinet, Roland MC202 Micro Composer synthesizer, Bryan Eubanks: open-circuit electronics (sinetones). Limited to 499 copies.

THOMAS, PAT (UK) - THE ELEPHANT CLOCK OF AL JAZARI (LP/OTOROKU)

Recorded live at OTO in May 2015 and mastered by Giuseppe Ielasi, this LP comprises four typically genre-defying and sonically dexterous pieces from one of the UK's most extraordinary pianists.

ELECTRONIC MUSIC/AMBIENT/D’N’B/TRIPHOP

BARRECA, MARC - RECORDINGS 1978-1979 (2LP) (LP/VINYL ON DEMAND)

Marc Barreca is an American electronic music composer who was part of the early cassette-culture. Inspired by Brian Eno and the ambient-school he started to record his own music in the mid-'70s. By 1980, he had recorded three tapes: 'In A Foreign Land' (1977), 'Raw Fish & Green Tea/Surrogate Religions' (1979) and 'Currents' (1979/'80). This DOUBLE-LP set contains the complete audio from 'Raw Fish & Green Tea/Surrogate Religions' and 'Currents'.

NEON, MALCOLM - 1980-1985 (2LP+7") (LP/VINYL ON DEMAND)

Until the release of this generous collection of music, the mysterious and magical electronic pop-synth sounds of Malcolm Neon (a.k.a. Malcolm Gwyon) existed only on one vinyl EP (alongside the other Welsh acts Y Ficar, Y Diawled and Eryr Wen) and on 18 limited cassette-only releases on Malcolm's own label Casetiau Neon, all released between 1980-'85. This collection is spread over two LP's and a 7-inch.

COSMIC GROUND - THE WATCHER/VAPORIZED ARTEFACTS (12"/DEEP DISTANCE)

Dirk Jan Muller's esteemed Cosmic Ground returns with a killer mini-LP/extended EP featuring two side-long epics of mind altering kosmische. Two previous outings on the Deep Distance label sold out in the blink of an eye and this is expected to follow suit. To Berlin School obsessives, Tangerine Dream heads and fans of the mind frying, sequenced workouts of Klaus Schulze, this is highly recommended. These two jams were originally produced during the creation of the mighty 'Cosmic Ground III' LP in 2016. Now they appear on vinyl for the first time.
