PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

PERDOMO, FERNANDO -'S OUT TO SEA BAND- - THE ARCHITECT/ANGEL (7"/THINK LIKE A KEY)

Limited 7" single by progressive rocker Fernando Perdomo featuring his Out To Sea Band. Both sides recorded live in studio, the A side, 'The Architect' is a breathtaking and remarkably faithful tribute to the late founding member of Yes, Peter Banks. A classic prog mini suite that sounds like the best of his work with Yes and Flash. The flip side, 'Angel', showcases an emotional and smooth guitar performance by Perdomo, who is well known for his work with artists as diverse as Jakob Dylan, Linda Perhacs and Dave Kerzner. Fernando Perdomo's Out To Sea band are regulars at the annual 'Cruise To The Edge' progressive rock festival. Comes in full color picture sleeve.

SACRED ORANGE - MISTER OPEL (7"/HYPNOTIC BRIDGE)

A psychedelic supergroup composed of members of Electric Looking Glass, Triptides, Dream Phases, Frankie and the Witch Fingers and more, Sacred Orange is the brainchild of former Creation Factory guitarist Neil Soiland. With influences as diverse as Tintern Abbey, One In A Million, Beatles, Beach Boys, and 'Satanic Majesties'-era Rolling Stones (plus 10cc and Tommy Roe), the Sacred Orange project is a true embodiment not only of the mind-blowing music that defined psychedelia's golden age, but of the camaraderie and shared inspiration that brought it to life. Intended solely as a studio project, over 60 separate tracks were recorded for 'Mister Opel' alone. Months in the making, the three songs that constitute the Sacred Orange EP serve as the magnum opus of the now-legendary project, in which nearly every denizen of the L.A. psych scene was seemingly somehow involved. B/w 'Away My Love' and 'Crystal Sunlight'.

BJORK, BRANT - (BLACK) GODS & GODDESSES (LP/HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS)

Reissue of 2010 album. Produced by Ethan Allen and Brant Bjork. Recorded and Mixed by Ethan Allen and Jim Watts.

BJORK, BRANT - (BLACK) PUNK ROCK GUILT (LP/HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS)

Reissue of 2008 album. Produced by Dave Raphael. Recorded and mixed December 2005 by Dave Raphael at Glide On Fade Studios N.J. Mastered by Dave Collins Los Angeles, CA. Cover art by Dirty Donny Gillies.

BJORK, BRANT - BRANT BJORK (BLACK) (LP/HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS)

2020 album. Maybe revisiting his 1999 debut 'Jalamanta' for a Heavy Psych Sounds 20th anniversary reissue in 2019 had some effect on Bjork's mindset in terms of working solo, but he's come too far in the ensuing decades to repeat himself, and the songs on 'Brant Bjork' -recorded and mixed by Yosef Sanborn in Joshua Tree and mixed by John McBain (ex-Monster Magnet)- show that, whether it's the mellow roll of 'Duke Of Dynamite' or the signature take on classic heavy rock in 'Jesus Was A Bluesman' and percussion-backed funk of opener 'Jungle In The Sound.' There's no mistaking Brant Bjork, and on 'Brant Bjork', he strips his songwriting style to its core and brings out the organic vibe that's made him desert rock's most crucial practitioner.

BLAKE, TIM - BLAKE'S NEW JERUSALEM (2LP) (LP/TRADING PLACES)

This is Blake's first studio release after the '70s experience with Gong and the Crystal Machine live duo with Patrice Warrener. Recorded between Sussex and the Barclay Studio in Paris, 'Blake's New Jerusalem' is a masterpiece of the drug culture of the 1970s. It comes with a whole bonus LP filled with bonus tracks from the same sessions!

GONERS - GOOD MOURNING (BLACK) (LP/RIDING EASY)

Debut album by Swedish quintet The Goners. The Goners feature former Salem's Pot vocalist/guitarist Nate Gone and former members of Swedish rock band Yvonne.

JAN DUKES DE GREY - MICE AND RATS IN THE LOFT (LP/TRADING PLACES)

Led by the inscrutably gnomic Derek Noy, Yorkshire-based outfit Jan Dukes De Grey briefly emerged in the late sixties to deliver two of the rarest, most soughtafter albums in the British acid folk lexicon, their 1969 debut 'Sorcerers' and the extraordinary 'Mice And Rats In The Loft', here represented in all its beauty. One of the most mysterious and iconoclastic albums of the whole hippie era.

JOHNNY & THE ROTTEN - DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE (LP/NASONI)

Imagine The Beach Boys having weird, dirty, sweaty sex with Sonic Youth and their baby turns out to be an angry punk that doesn't give a fuck about the dos and don'ts of how to behave as a band. Johnny & The Rotten are a breath of fresh air to the yet oddly diverse and gifted music scene of Linz, Austria and probably the rest of the world. Expect the unexpected at each one of their shows but most importantly expect to be blown away by a noisy wall of sound and an overly energetic show that makes you wonder how only three dudes manage to deliver all of that.

RAIN (USA/NY) - 1971... THE LOST ALBUM (LP/JARGON)

Rain was a popular blues inspired rock band from Rochester, New York. Members were Brad Morse on vocals, Ted Paris on bass, Mick Guerin on drums and led by guitar maestro, Helmut Getto. Rain was a real powerhouse in their day! This legendary band broke up shortly after recording their studio album in 1971. Lost and forgotten for nearly 50 years, the album was never released! '1971... The Lost Album', a collection of original songs that the band recorded in the summer of 1971, was originally planned to be a follow up to their first record, 'Live Christmas Night', which came out on the band's label, Whazoo Records in early 1971. Through fate's twists and turns, the plan changed and the studio album fell by the wayside. Decades later and after lots of detective work, the studio tapes finally surfaced! These eight previously unreleased original songs have finally manifested themselves on limited edition 12" vinyl, and Jargon Records are proud to present to you this epic treasure of rock history as a part of Jargon Records' Time Capsule Series!

SNAKE MOANS - THE HISSING LINK (LP/CRITICAL MASS)

Mostly instrumental soundscapes with psychedelic influences by a Belgian artist based in Spain. Comes on blue vinyl.

STACK WADDY - BUGGER OFF! (LP/TRADING PLACES)

'Bugger Off!' picked up where its predecessor left off, and rampaged on from there. Covers of Zappa's 'Willy The Pimp' and The Kinks' 'You Really Got Me' might have seemed a little obvious, but both are battered down with such a glorious lack of finesse that it's impossible to object - anybody familiar with, respectively, Juicy Lucy and the Hammersmith Gorillas' versions of the same songs will come in with at least a vague idea of what to expect, but that's about it. 'Hoochie Coochie Man' is even more disheveled, and when John Peel's liner notes reminisce on the group's insistence on recording live, you can tell he's not necessarily looking back with any fondness. On one occasion, he suggested they do a little overdubbing. The band's response to his words would become the album's title. Including 'Mama Keep Your Big Mouth Shut' as bonus track taken from the 1972 John Peel Session.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

BO DEREK'S - AL CARAJO/THE GREATEST LOVER IN THE WORLD (7"/FAMILY SPREE)

The Bo Derek's published their debut LP '10', which was critically acclaimed. This is the follow-up 7", again with high energy rock'n'roll.

KID - E.R.T.F. NO. 1 (7"/FAMILY SPREE)

A spit of fuzz butt that digs its roots into the dark swamps of the blues. Songs loaded with rage that arise from a dead end.

PANIKS - MARIBEL (7"/FAMILY SPREE)

Inspired by Gun Club, Cramps, Screamin 'Jay Hawkins, Andre Williams and the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. This EP brings four tracks of aggressive, bordering on psychopathic rock.

VARIOUS - ROCKA ROLLA: EL VIDOCQ'S SUPREME (+CD) (LP/JUKEBOX MUSIC FACTORY)

Never before has El Vidocq so devilishly delved into the musical world of 1950s bad boys. 'Rocka Rolla' is a combative compilation of taboos and transgressions, evoking sex and violence, drugs and alcohol, all fueling a fiery thirst for rebellion. Frightened by The Wild One, music industry squares tried to hit back with reassuring melodies like 'I'm Not A Juvenile Delinquent' (Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers) - but all too little, too late, for the rock'n'roll rot had set in and society would never again be the same. From King Coleman's barking 'Bulldog' to The Crew's explosive 'Hot Wire', this selection snakes amongst tormented souls (Gene Summer's 'Nervous'), frayed nerves ('The Freeze' by Fenton & The Castle Rockers) and utter despair (Cecil McCullough's 'Nothing Else To Loose'). Finally, the crepuscular 'Rollin' And Tumblin'' by Elmore James announces the night, but dancing not's dead, as evidenced by Warner Mac's mad 'Roc-A-Chicka'. ! Undoubtedly the darkest Jukebox Music Factory to date, this chutzpadik anthology is nevertheless full of fight. SIDE 1: 1. King Coleman - Bulldog 2. Fenton & The Castle Rockers - The Breeze 3. Jimmy & Stan - Tahiti 4. Ron & Joe & The Crew - Riot In Cell Block No. 9 5. Jules Blattner & His Teen Tones - Gamblin' Man 6. Warner Mack - Roc-A Chicka 7. Quintet Plus - Grits 'n Grease 8. The Sentinals - Blue Booze SIDE 2: 1. Jimmy Van Eaton - Foggy 2. Clyde McCullough - Nothing Else To Lose 3. The Mystic - Fox 4. Jerry Jaye - How Could You Lose Your Trust In Me 5. Elmore James - Rollin' And Tumblin' 6. The Rockin' R's - The Beat 7. Gene Summers - Nervous 8. The Crew - Hot Wire

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

PLEASURE PRINCIPLE - PLEASURE PRINCIPLE (LP/BORN BAD)

After recording a lot, without any constraints of format or expectations, Pleasure Principle created music which oscillates, between synthetic krautrock, dancehall lo-fi, Manchester sound recorded with toys, rock like Velvet and Memphis rap for children. And between Les Negresses Vertes and Julien Gracq when it comes to the lyrics. This first album is a kind of 'best of' from 2015 to 2018 and is moves somewhere in the middle of Francis Bebey, Add(N) To X and Ludwig Von 88.

BLUES/COUNTRY/OLDIES

KORNER, ALEXIS -'S BLUES INCORPORATED- - RED HOT FROM ALEX (LP/TRADING PLACES)

Alexis Korner's third album, originally released on the Transatlantic Label in 1964, after two live albums recorded at The Cavern and The Marquee, featuring his all-time hits 'Stormy Monday' and Chicken Shack'. A true masterpiece from one of the godfathers of the white blues movement from the '60s.

SOUL/FUNK/LATIN/R&B/GOSPEL

MIDNIGHT RUNNERS - KUDA ARABS (7"/BORN TO SHINE)

This 7" contains two tracks of Indonesian disco edits with a psychedelic touch. Restored and remastered.

PAYNE, AMIN - BAD JUICE/JUST A MINUTE (7"/BORN TO SHINE)

Australian Amin Payne known for his releases on Hot Shot Sounds or Beatgeeks collabed with also Australian based Roughsoul to bring us an synth-driven, bodyshaking modern funk bomb called 'Bad Juice'. Full of positive vibes grown under Australia's sun.

BYBO - DREAM ON (12"/BORN TO SHINE)

Most tracks on this EP have a synth-funk twist. As a small deviation Bybo explores the sound of the late '80s and early '90s, where New Jack Swing meets 808 sounds on 'Program Of Love'.

VARIOUS - FUNK'N'SHINE (12"/BORN TO SHINE)

The diversity of the artists is the strength on this compilation. Six artists from different backgrounds and nations deliver six completely different sounds. TRACKS: 1. Liquid Pegasus - On The Ave 2. L33 - I Care 4 You 3. Ivan Makvel - Funkelicious 4. Paul Withey - Zodiac 5. Kali Boog - Dreams Of You 6. NightMoves - Not Tonight

FREEKWENCY - SEAL THE DEAL (LP/BORN TO SHINE)

Freekwency composed this modern funk album in a small bedroom studio in Melbourne's North. These tracks have been remastered and remixed.

AFRO-BEAT/FUNK & PSYCH/DESERT BLUES/ETHIOPIQUES

FRANCO & L'ORCHESTRE O.K. JAZZ - LA RUMBA DE MI VIDA (2LP) (LP/PLANET ILUNGA)

The 'La Rumba De Mi Vida' 2LP compilation displays the full extent to which O.K. Jazz and its bandleader Franco explored Congolese rumba in the sixties and early seventies. Each of the four sides on this double LP presents a different facet of O.K. Jazz. The songs presented on this album justify why Franco was (and still is) regarded as the greatest portraitist of Congolese society. Side A presents tracks published in the early seventies on Franco's label Editions Populaires. This was a period in which Franco took full control over the orchestra and was integrating a new sound into the band such as the return of the acoustic guitar and collaborations with artists from the first generation of Congolese rumba such as Manuel d'Oliveira and Camille Feruzi. Side B includes some of the first recordings O.K. Jazz made abroad, when the band went to Brussels in the early sixties to record for the Surboum African Jazz label. Side C features five charming covers that O.K. Jazz did, mostly of Cuban artists. Side D shows the band's sensitivity for composing songs firmly rooted in the vast universe of Congolese folklore, and for writing lyrics in languages other than Lingala, Kinshasa's lingua franca. Almost all of the 23 titles on this compilation have not been re-released previously and were restored and remastered from the original 45 rpm or 78 rpm release. SIDE 1: 1. Malata 2. Tika Kolela Chérie 3. Ba Mpangi Ya Matadi 4. Mosala Etindi 5. Casier Judiciaire SIDE 2: 1. La Mode Ya Pius Apiki Dalapo 2. Ngai Muana Na Weyi 3. Cha Cha Cha Erique 4. Baiser Na Litama 5. Lopango Ya Bana Na Ngai 6. Victoire de Bruxelles 7. Onzeteuna SIDE 3: 1. Revolver 2. Baila Charanga 3. El Paso De Encarnacion 4. El Pinazo 5. Na Mokili Mibale Na Mibale SIDE 4: 1. Ma Nkewa 2. Bandoki Kabasala Ye Nkenda Ko 3. Beno Bakongo Sika 4. Owawa 5. Camp Luka 6. Lokumu Ya Mwasi Mpo Na Mobali (Bonus Track)
