PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

BONNIE NETTLES - THE BONNIE NETTLES (LP/BLACKSPIN)

The Bonnie Nettles' self-titled debut album is comprised of nine tracks and succeeds to imprint the feeling of their gigs, which are packed, with trippy and stunning music, parallel to the effortless brilliance of the Stones at the fevered late '60s peak, while also delivering the acid-house blur of the Madchester movement! Influenced by garage music culture of late '60s with neo-psychedelic and jangle pop elements of early '90s, their sound creates an atmosphere that makes you think you are crossing an endless highway with a red Mustang. 300 copies on high quality 180 gram vinyl in a glossy laminated gatefold cover.

BONZAI - SEEDS TO ROOTS (LP/MADE OF STONE)

Bonzai's music needs little introduction. The quartet from Thessaloniki know very well how to come up with pure stoner rock melodies, combining powerful vocals and dynamics with psychedelia and distorted tones. Desert guitar riffs, punchy, tight drums and clear, distinctive vocals leave little room for doubt: here is a band that sticks to the point, a band that makes the influences they rely on and the genre they adopt clear. A satisfying debut, offering 50 minutes of plain rock n' roll.

CENTRE EL MUUSA - CENTRE EL MUUSA (LP/SULATRON)

Debut album of this Estonian underground band. An album made by 4 musicians, including one of the most creative and prolific multi-instrumentalists in Europe: Misha Panfilov. He is famous for his (mostly) instrumental psychedelic funk singles and electronic albums by Misha Panfilov Sound Combo (Funk Night Records, USA), as well as the jazzy krautrock by Estrada Orchestra (Funk Night Records, USA). Volodja Brodsky is a co-founder of the band and a master on the Wurlitzer electric piano and space synthesizers. Centre El Muusa is an Estonian psychedelic rock quartet founded in 2015 (previously named as Centre Electronique Muusa). The project, which started as an avant-garde electronic duo, in 2018 developed into a rock band, when it was joined by Monika Erdman on electric bass and Aleksei Semenihhin on drums. Their music combines elements of krautrock, psychedelia, country and ambient music joined by repetitave patterns. Recorded and produced by Misha Panfilov. Mastered by Jörgen Hermaste. LP on 180 gram black vinyl, limited to 500 copies.

EIGHTEENTH DAY OF MAY - THE EIGHTEENTH DAY OF MAY (2LP) (LP/CARDINAL FUZZ)

This retrospective contains their only LP along with proposed tracks recorded for their second LP that they never finished, demos and b-sides. The Eighteenth Day Of May were a six-piece, London based group. Originally formed as an acoustic trio consisting of American Alison Brice (vocals, flute), Swede Richard Olson (acoustic guitar, harmonica and sitar) and Ben Phillipson (guitar and mandolin), they combined elements of traditional and contemporary folk with a psychedelic jangle. Limited to 598 copies. Co-release with Feeding Tube.

HUGE MOLASSES TANK EXPLODES - II (LP/RETRO VOX)

Huge Molasses Tank Explodes are a psychedelic quartet from Milan. The band was named after a headline of the Boston Post, reporting the "Great Molasses Flood" that took place in Boston on January 15th, 1919, when a huge tank exploded flooding the northern area of the city. HTME's sound floats between evocative kraut rock echoes, shoegaze influences flashing from the '90s and a fresh modern feel.

MODULATOR II - SLIVERED HEARSE (LP/STOLEN BODY)

The Big Crunch is here, growling from limbo. This eerie hunch, the griming guitars. Extinction is near, trapped between the walls of their psychotic sound. It's fast. Oxidised by corrupted fuzz. No space left for salvation. The rumbling bass will destroy one's last illusions. The spatial voice will guide listeners toward psychoses. Modulator II's version of the future is way more pessimistic. The universe has stopped its perpetual expansion and is going back to its tomb.

NARITA, MUNEHIRO - LIVE P.S.F. (LP/CARDINAL FUZZ)

'LIVE PERFORMANCE SAN FRANCISCO - The cranium busting 'Live P.S.F.' was recorded live at the Hemlock Tavern (by PSF worshiper Ethan Miller). For those young pups not quite in the know - Munehiro Narita, the original "psychedelic speed freak," is for many people the undisputed king of the motorcycle fuzz guitar. Active since the late '70s, Narita is a Japanese psychedelic underground legend. After playing in cult bands like Kyoaku no Intention, he founded the brutal heavy-psych power trio High Rise in the '80s and more recently Green Flames with his furious guitar playing, which involves lethal doses of fuzz-wah at ear-splitting volume. Narita was lucky to be in the right place in Tokyo to see many performances by one of the most out of control guitar players ever to handle 6 strings in Takashi Mizutani (Les Rallizes Denudes) as well as taking in wild performances from Keiji Haino, Gaseneta and their take no prisoner maelstrom is a style that Munehiro holds dear too.

NOISE FIGURES - THE PERFECT SPELL (BLACK) (LP/MADE OF STONE)

This duo from Athens relied on analog methods when recording their first album, an album filled with fuzz, garage rock vibes and psychedelic aesthetics. Meaty, catchy, fuzz driven guitar lines and overwhelmingly powerful drumming create a full, loud wall of sound and keep muscle and intimidation in play throughout the album. With the cooperation of their sound engineer Nikos Triantafyllou and long time producer Alex Bolpasis, The Noise Figures play their ace and build a heavy psych soundscape, sticking close to their raw power roots.

PYRAMID (GERMANY) - MIND MAZE (BLACK) (LP/MADE OF STONE)

Pyramid is a band set to remind us there was a time "when music could make a difference", a time when bands like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and King Crimson were at the zenith. That's what Pyramid, the instrumental stoner/krautrockers from Nuremberg, are. The album takes listeners to a 40-minute trip in a world full of acid rock touches and stoner, prog rock or grunge influences, spanning from the '70s to the '90s and today. Among them careful listeners can trace bands like Yes and Pink Floyd, Kyuss and Fu Manchu, as well as Colour Haze and Sungrazer. With 'Mind Maze' Pyramid do accomplish a milestone that bands crave for: to build a solid and interesting debut, which is accessible and "fun" through its psych jams and spacey krautrock grooves, while at the same time provides enough hidden musical gems for those willing to listen carefully.

SPIRAL GALAXY - SPIRAL GALAXY (LP/LION PRODUCTION)

Traveling the spaceways as Spiral Galaxy, flautist/painter Sara Gossett and treated guitar/machines manipulator Plastic Crimewave (of Plastic Crimewave Syndicate/Galactic Zoo Dossier magazine) have created devotional sonic voyages and droney soundscapes with the occasional rhythmic pulse to conjure the textural and kosmische vibe of '70s German seekers like Yatha Sidhra, Emtidi, Popul Vuh, Achim Reichel, Sand, and early Kraftwerk. The duo's first album contains expansive tracks they had been performing live on tours in the UK and Italy, plus USA events like Chicago Psych Fest, Milwaukee Psych Fest, Far Out Nashville festival, and The Feed Me Weird Things series in Iowa City. Treating the studio as an instrument, new layers, instruments and collaborators were added to the heady mix, like special guests Jean-Hervé Péron of legendary avant-German collective Faust (who Spiral Galaxy was lucky enough to open for, and collaborate with on stage); Kawabata Makoto of Japanese communal psychlords Acid Mothers Temple on chants and spoken voice; and Alisha Sufit of UK '70s eastern-folk band Magic Carpet (also chanting her heart out). Also appearing on the album are guitar wunderkind Ryley Walker (playing backwards guitar on this, not easy!), Taralie of Spires That In The Sunset Rise on Terry Riley-ish circular sax, sitar-player Hands of Hydra, Moog-maestro Will MacLean of Protovulcan, and Christian Luke Brady of meditative Virginia cosmonauts Fargon. What results is a dense, hallucinogenic, sonic tapestry of an LP that covers many moods-from divine soundscapes to krautrock's motorik beats, doomy experimental pieces to dark acid folk, and beyond. Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl. Co-release with Cardinal Fuzz.

VINNUM SABBATHI - OF DIMENSIONS AND THEORIES (+7") (LP/STOLEN BODY)

After 'The Good Earth Is Dying' (split with Cegvera), Vinnum Sabbathi comes with 'Of Dimensions And Theories'. The album is divided into two "Dimensions" and two "Theories" represented on the vinyl edition by a 12" and 7". The 12" holds the two sides of this story while the 7" introduces two points of view from the public about the current situation on the planet. First, an appraisal on the future of the species, as told by humans from different nationalities. On the other hand, a preacher questioning the efforts to leave the planet to look for salvation in space. Contains booklet.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

VARIOUS - GUNSMOKE, VOL. 5 (10") (10"/STAG-O-LEE)

Fifth volume in a limited edition series on Stag-O-Lee. This time compiled by the one and only Hank Ray, a fixture of the German Cramps/rockabilly/country scene, having fronted the legendary Raymen, being a repsected solo artist and currently in Lucifer's Sideburns. Limited to 666 copies and packaged in a nice 10" sleeve with center hole. This is a collection of oddball country weepers, moody rockabilly, widescreen country & western and popcorn noir from the 1950s and early '60s. So turn out the lights, sit back and relax to the soundtrack from a jukebox in a ghost town... For best results: listen to after dark! SIDE 1: 1. Alfie Self - Rain Dance 2. Merle Kilgore - Lover's Hell 3. Chick Lewis - North Winds 4. Carl Perkins - The Drifter 5. Dale Hawkins - Everglades 6. Anita Carter - Satan's Child SIDE 2: 1. Bo Diddley - The Great Grandfather 2. Billy Dixon & The Topics - The Trance 3. Vernon Green & The Phantoms - Sweet Breeze 4. Jack Kittel - Psycho 5. Everly Brothers - Down In The Willow Garden

PUNK/HARDCORE

LUX - NEW DAY (7"/LA VIDA ES UN MUS)

Barcelona's Lux return with a four track EP and it's pogo thrills the whole way. It's raw, tight and primal. It perfectly captures the sound of a classic and much loved UK82 release with a basic production and foot to the floor energy. Standouts include 'Action' which sits next to the first two singles by Vice Squad and The Expelled and 'Maana' which is more uptempo and shows a love of Action Pact and all things Riot City Records. Simplicity done well is a hard thing to do but Lux do it without any problems.

MEDIA - BRIGHT NEW FUTURE (BLACK) (LP/LOVE CHILD)

The Media were a Portsmouth band formed in 1978, influenced by the UK punk explosion of 1977. The Media played loads of shows, honed their '60s beat meets '70s street/seminal suburban songs, got a bit good, built a large following, released two singles and by 1980 were featured in a youth TV series called 'Going Out'. What could possibly go wrong? Their debut EP 'No Darling I Love The Media' appeared in 1978 on their own Tearaway Records (Cherry Red Records distributed it). A second single, 'Southcoast City Rockers' and 'Back On The Beach' came out the following year on the Portsmouth collective Brain Booster Records. The single showed the band moving on musically, taking in elements of the UK's emerging ska scene (led by The Specials' Two Tone label) and the Mod revival inspired by The Jam. On the back of the money they were paid for the 'Going Out' TV series, the band went in the studio with the aim of recording songs for an album - 9 songs were completed. But, trouble at one of their support slots led to the cancellation of a series of gigs, including a prominent London show, and the band split in 1981. Fast forward 37 years and the master tapes from that album session were found by a band member in their loft. On the advice of Acid Attack's Dave Clarke the tape is sent to Paul Orwell at Love Child Records, who in turn played it to Adam Cooper of parent company Heavy Soul Records, both of these uber music fans gave it a massive thumbs up. So now 40 years after release of first Media EP the album 'Bright New Future' is now available!

RAT CAGE - SCREAMS FROM THE CAGE (LP/LA VIDA ES UN MUS)

Like a steel girder to the forehead, in comes 'Screams From The Cage'. 19 minutes of brutally up front and relentlessly rowdy hardcore punk, that slams a firm British stamp on the classic Swedish hardcore blueprint. This wrecking ball sits somewhere between the '80s Hudiksvall sounds of Missbrukarna, the damaged No Future confessions of the Partisans and the sheer rock and roll audacity of the Skitkids. Back to back riffs that'll stick to your brain like the glue at the bottom of your bag and steaming drums blasts that'll plough through your skull like a juggernaut driven by a maniac high on amphetamine. Mylo Oxlo provides the artwork once again, perfectly capturing the claustrophobic animosity of the Rat's latest 12 song romp and rampage. Fittingly dropping on the year of the Rat while the Tory's take a strangle hold of the UK for another 4 years. Hold onto your seat, feel the burn and don't you dare turn this fucker down.

METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

WEED DEMON - CRATER MAKER (GOLD) (LP/ELECTRIC VALLEY)

A band's third release is a challenging one - it's frequently here where they make or break their career. Having launched on a musical journey five years ago with the desire to reflect their sludgy musical ancestors, Weed Demon live up to their early promise on 'Crater Maker'. This is far and away their most fully realized work to date. Not for the faint of heart, 'Crater Maker' launches with eleven minutes of instrumental stoner rock to set the mood. By the time you get to the devastating vocals of 'Serpent Merchant' you know you're in for a rare treat. Infused with bluesy roots and defined by a search for the perfect tone, 'Crater Maker' is a sonic quest like few others. Their worship of bands like Sleep and Electric Wizard is apparent throughout, but these Columbus, Ohio doomsters are clearly in touch with another side of themselves on this record. An album that rewards multiple listens, it promises to be a worthwhile listen for doom freaks across the globe. Electric Valley Records has once more signed a winner - are you ready to join them on the journey to this riff filled land?

SOULDRAGGER - SOULDRAGGER (CD/TIME TO KILL)

Souldragger is a band with a simple and direct sound which is also evil, fast and powerful. They combine old school heavy and thrash metal sounds with more modern sounds like metalcore and similar. Influenced by Iron Maiden, Metallica and Trivium.

REGGAE/DUB/SKA/ROCKSTEADY

ABDUL, PETER/RUSS D - INFLATION/INFLATION DUBWISE (7"/DIG THIS WAY)

An international cooperation from Nigeria (singer), Italy (arrangements and production) and the UK (mix and dubs). This matches the spirit of the Dig This Way label, bringing together different realities with the intent to create proper reggae music. The riddim of 'Inflation' is played by The Abeng Musical Box and sung by Peter Abdul while the mix and dubs are handled by Russ D in Front Room Studio.

ABENG & MED TONE ALLSTAR/MANASSEH - GROWN IN CAPTIVITY/DUB IN CAPTIVITY (7"/DIG THIS WAY)

Another international cooperation, this track has been ready for years but due to some technical issues the riddim was not recorded with the needed quality, so Dig This Way decided to cooperate with their friends from Med Tone Allstar who re-interpretated it, catching exactly the mood that they wanted to express. Abeng did the vocals and Nick Manasseh handled the mix and the dub version.

DANCE/TECHNO/HOUSE/HIPHOP

VARIOUS - DIAMONDS IN THE NIGHT, VOL.2 (12"/BORDELLO A PARIGI)

'Diamonds In The Night' returns with its second volume featuring some 21st century disco sounds. TRACKS: 1. Lerosa - It's Hard 2. Eliott Litrowski - The Little Optimist 3. Vyvyan - That Time I Dated 4. Iamnotarobot - El Vuelo

AFRO-BEAT/FUNK & PSYCH/DESERT BLUES/ETHIOPIQUES

LES FILLES DE ILLIGHADAD - LES FILLES DE ILLIGHADAD (CD/SAHEL SOUNDS)

These sublime recordings from rural Niger present two very different sides of Tuareg music: dreamy ishumar acoustic guitar sessions and the hypnotic polyphonic style that inspired it. Guitarist Fatou Seidi Ghali and vocalist Alamnou Akrouni lead their collective that's named after their home village. Recorded in the open air studio of the desert!

VARIOUS: WORLD, CLASSICAL, SPOKEN WORDS ETC

CHOUK BWA & THE ANGSTROMERS - VODOU ALE (LP/BONGO JOE)

In 2016, Haitian voodoo band Chouk Bwa and electronic production duo The Angströmers united to form Chouk Bwa & The Angströmers. Chouk Bwa play traditional Haitian music; they would fit in the "mizik rasin" genre, alongside bands like Boukman Eksperyans, Boukan Ginen or Rasin Mapou from Azor. However, until their decisive encounter with The Angströmers, their most characteristic feature was their loyalty to the essential elements of voodoo - therefore without any instrumental addition. The Angströmers, an electronic music duo consisting of Nicolas Esterle and Frédéric Alstadt, constitute one of the artistic emanations of the label The Angströmers. The Angströmers spread their music full of bass and echos, influenced by dub and drone music, all over the underground European stages. All along their encounter with the voodoo culture, they learn to expand their sound by immersing themselves into complex polyrhythms. They develop an electronic psychedelic music, free of all the codes of binary, 4/4 standards that dominate the club world.

KADINELIA - KADINELIA (CD/SPACE BETWEEN US)

A trip where the timeless sounds of Greece are transformed into something new through the alluring acoustic guitar melodies and the harmonic singing of this duo.
