PSYCHEDELIC/PROGRESSIVE/FOLK

CONSTANTINE - IN MEMORY OF A SUMMER DAY (LP/GUERSSEN)

'Day Of Light', the first album by Chicago musician Constantine, released as a private edition in 2015, took the underground psych-folk scene by storm and it's now a cult album between psychedelic aficionados. Constantine's second effort 'In Memory Of A Summer Day' is another psychedelic folk-rock gem filled with pastoral tales of adventure, beauty and sorrow. Housed in a whimsical storybook-illustrated gatefold sleeve (artwork by Stephen Titra of O.W.L.), and includes twelve lyric insert pages. Recommended for fans of Mark Fry, Shide & Acorn, Trader Horne and Donovan.

DULCIMER - AND I TURNED AS I HAD TURNED AS A BOY (LP/MAGIC BOX)

A classic UK pastoral folk album from 1971 gets reissued on 140-GRAM BLACK VINYL. Including a gatefold sleeve and an insert with notes and images, this wonderful LP offers a combination of gentle ballads, fantasy lyrics and poetry read by actor Richard Todd.

EPIDERMIS - JUNE 1975 (LP/GARDEN OF DELIGHTS)

Epidermis were founded in Idstein, Germany, in 1971. They played some complex and sophisticated rock music, often compared with Gentle Giant, Yes and the Canterbury scene. 'June 1975' has not been released on any physical format back then, and has been made available for the first time. The 20-page booklet in LP size contains a long band history in German and English lyrics and a detailed discography.

HEMLOCK - HEMLOCK (LP/MAGIC BOX)

The sole LP by this UK blues rock band, originally issued in 1973, makes its welcome return to vinyl, including an insert featuring notes and images. Hemlock was formed by guitarist Miller Anderson after leaving the Keef Hartley Band. Also featuring the superb organ playing of Mick Weaver (ex-Grease Band), the group's gutsy, soulful brand of blues-rock found favour with audiences in America, where the guys supported the likes of Uriah Heep and Savoy Brown. Hemlock however unfortunately struggled to connect with audiences back home.

ICE (USA) - THE ICE AGE (BLACK) (LP/RIDING EASY)

As RidingEasy Records' highly successful 'Brown Acid' series (now at 10 volumes and counting) proves, there is a massive amount of incredible heavy psych and proto-metal music that has been lost to the sands of time. Case in point, the astoundingly great 50 year old album 'The Ice Age' by Indianapolis quintet Ice was never even released upon its completion. In 1970, the band recorded 10 original songs at 8-Track Studios in Chicago, only to break up shortly thereafter. Two of the tracks were eventually released as a 45 in 1972, but confusingly under a different band name, Zukus! The A-side of that single was featured on 'Brown Acid: The Ninth Trip', which led RidingEasy Records to discover when licensing the track that an entire album had been languishing in obscurity all of this time. The 2-inch master tapes had been shelved and forgotten until recently when 'The Ice Age' tracks were converted to digital and remixed, preserving the sounds of the original vocals and instruments. Finally, half a century later, this 10 song album of radio-ready rock will finally see light of day. 'The Ice Age' is an exceptional archive of hard edged rock with serious pop hooks akin to something like Grand Funk Railroad meets The Guess Who and The Move. It rocks hard, but is also interlaced with glorious melodic hooks. Had fate been less fickle, this album would've long been a classic rock radio staple.

MARIETTA - PRAPEZAM ST. (LP/BORN BAD)

'Prazepam St.' has been recorded with cracked computer music software. Having a more rich sound than the two previous records, this album is also easier to grasp. Marietta went back to some of his teenage years fovorite records - Sonic Youth, Beck, Nirvana, the Beastie Boys, but also Jim O'Rourke or David Pajo. 'Prazepam St.' is a dark and twisted record, like a soundtrack which could fit in some David Lynch movie.

MELISSA - MIDNIGHT TRAMPOLINE (LP/BLACK WIDOW)

Originally known as Molten Hue, Melissa was one of the first bands on the Sydney 'head' scene of the early seventies to include obscure West Coast material in their live set. Recorded over a period of nine months, their album eventually appeared on the Banner label to little response at the end of 1971. 'Midnight Trampoline' stands as an intriguing artefact that combines esoteric, folksy-rock redolent of Jethro Tull ('Matalla', 'Getting Through'), Moody Blues-styled pastoral pop ('Out In The Country', 'Jennifer In New York'), progressive blues-rock ('Cuckoo'), and two Van Morrison covers ('Young Lovers Do' and 'Madame George'). Remastered audio. First time repressed on LP, with textured cover including 32-page booklet.

MISSUS BEASTLY - SPACE GUERILLA (LP/GARDEN OF DELIGHTS)

Instrumental jazz-rock, recorded perfectly in the Stuttgart sound studio Zuckerfabrik in April 1978. Its style resembles that of its predecessor, 'Dr. Aftershave And The Mixed Pickles', but with funk touch. 'Space Guerilla' (Schneeball 00011) was the fourth and last LP by Missus Beastly. All of the eight tracks were written by the band members themselves. The 24-page booklet in LP size contains a detailed band history in German and in English language, an accurate discography including cover and label reproductions, photographs, poster repros, etc. Thus, the series of LP re-releases of Missus Beastly material has practically been completed. Not shrink-wrapped anymore because of quality checks.

ODIN - ODIN (LP/LONGHAIR)

Vinyl reissue of German/English/Dutch formation Odin. Their one and only album on famous German label Vertigo, originally released in 1972, is a truly gem of the golden age of progressive rock. Four excellent musicians show their great talent, especially organ player Jeff Beer and guitarist Rob Terstall, driven by great rhythm section of Ray Brown on bass and drummer Stuart Fordham. The album's highlight is opening track 'Life Is Only'. This is an absolutely great 12-minute track with raging, dissonant Hammond B-3 work, refined song constructions and very good guitar and vocal work. Another highlight is an 8-minute version of the Quartermass classic 'Gemini' which features also a long and impressive B-3 organ solo. 'Clown' closes the original album out with some heavy instrumental firepower from Jeff Beer on keyboards and strong vocals. The LP comes with a reproduction of the original poster (60x60cm) and a comprehensive insert including personal liner notes by Ray Brown, press reviews and many rare photos. The special remastering from a digital copy of the original tape guarantees a brilliant sounding LP. Hot stuff and highly recommended. Don't miss this limited edition!

TIN PAN ALLEY - TIN PAN ALLEY (LP/GARDEN OF DELIGHTS)

Tin Pan Alley were founded in 1978 in Germany. The band played progressive rock in the style of the early 1970s. In 1981, they recorded four tracks as a demo tape, but they did not manage to get the interest from a label. This also due to the fact, that music from the Neue Deutsche Welle was at its heyday. The album thus remained unreleased back then and after decades it finally sees an official release. Comes with an 8-page booklet.

ELDS MARK - ELDS MARK (CD/PANCROMATIC)

Elds Mark plays dark and mellow folk-inspired instrumental rock. It was established as a side project by musicians from Jordsjo and Obliteration among others, and the album was recorded autumn 2019 in Våler, Ostfold, Norway. The songs try to capture the feelings of old cabins and silent mountain lakes, and should appeal to fans of Ragnarök, Landberk, Träden and Scandinavian jazz and folk music.

GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

CAPOCCI, PAT - COAST TO COAST/PHARAOH OF LOVE (7"/SLEAZY)

Another two tracks from Pat Capocci, bringing some summer rockabilly vibes.

FERNANDEZ, ENMA - PRADO!/MANNA MACHINE (7"/SLEAZY)

With 'Prado!', Fernandez displays an elegant and fine work where he has brought the latin influences one step beyond. Blow by blow, the enfant terrible of piano breaks into the field of mambo with a wink to the leading figures of the genre as Perez Prado, Bebo Valdes or Machito.

HIP SHOOTERS - HEY BIG CITY (7"/SLEAZY)

A blend of folk and country music with the blues for flavor. This 7" by the Hip Shooters brings four tracks: 'Hey Big City', 'Beggar With The Blues', 'Rock'n'Roll Bug' and 'She Feels Like Rockin''.

KRONK MEN - 3 (LP/FORBIDDEN PLACE)

Forbidden Place welcomes Oregon's own surf rock noise lords The Kronkmen! Their third album and first on Forbidden Place. Like surfing the wave of a panic attack, this album is certain to destroy the fragile mind. Escaping the void is uncertain. Recorded by Dr. Id (Mike Lastra) at Smegma studios in Portland, OR. Mastered by Mr. Tad Doyle(TAD) at Witch Ape studios in Seattle,WA. For fans of Shadowy Men From A Shadowy Planet, The Ventures, Wood Chickens, Dick Dale, Man Or Astro Man, Don Caballero, Rodan, Hüsker Dü. Comes on on black and gray/white mixed vinyl. Limited edition of 250 copies.

LOS GRINGOS - STREET SURF (LP/URUSAI)

If the Dead Kennedys and the Ventures had sex, Los Gringos would be their freakin' children. Before forming Los Gringos in the German Ruhr Area in 2011, all band members had played in different hardcore punk bands. After some demo recordings, Los Gringos released their first LP 'Surf Fast, Sleep Long' in 2014. They had to face a lot of challenges. An additonal guitar player started in 2013 and left the band in 2014, in 2018 a close friend of the band and the drummer's wife passed away. But the band didn't give in. By now, they have found their own unique sound and decided to record a new LP called 'Street Surf', released on the Dutch label Urusai Records. The sound is too surfy for punks and much too punkesque for surfers, but Los Gringos still don't care and they keep on keeping on. 'Street Surf' is an 100 % instrumental record, its 11 tracks will kick your ass to the moon and back!

VINCENT, GENE - IN SPAIN - SPANISH CAPITOL EP COLLECTION (3LP) (LP/SLEAZY)

Gene Vincent recorded eleven EPs in Spain between 1957 and 1968 for Capitol. Most were Spanish editions of American or French EPs, although some of them presented important differences in covers and details. This 3LP set compiles all the songs from those eleven EPs, including two bonus songs: 'Be-Bop-A-Lula' and 'Say Mama', which did not see the light in Spain until 1968, when they were released on a single.

GENTLE SCARS - SONGS FOR THE LOVELESS (CD/DETOUR)

The Gentle Scars from Liverpool bring a sound influenced by The Electric Stars mixed with glam and a late '60s vibe. The Scars take more of a garagerock route while mixing it up with some dirty sleazy trash!

POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

HARRIS, JODY -& ROBERT QUINE- - ESCAPE (LP/SORCERER)

The album known as 'Escape' was originally released on the New York no wave label Infidelity in 1981, and has never been reissued in any form since. Sorcerer presents a first-time reissue of this very special recording. Remastered by Mikey Young and fully authorised by Jody Harris and Robert's brother, Van, it is reissued in an edition of 600 copies. Jody made his name on the NY scene mainly through his work with the legendary avant-funksters The Contortions, while Robert Quine, who sadly passed away in 2004, was one of the most acclaimed guitarists of his day, noted for his work with Richard Hell & The Voidoids, Lou Reed, Tom Waits, John Zorn, Matthew Sweet and many more. The two recorded 'Escape' in Quine's apartment with a whopping budget of $7 (that's what it cost Quine for the tape). The album sees them both engaging in guitar duels over a primitive drum machine, a kind of skeletal minimal-synth with avant-guitar excursions overhead. Outward-bound yet wholly listenable, the five tracks represent a great lost gem of the NYC underground scene of the day. This edition also comes with an inner sleeve featuring liner notes from Jody Harris detailing the recording, as well as exclusive photographs of the two. Recommended to fans of no wave, Rhys Chatham, Suicide and the music of Robert Quine and Jody Harris, of course.

LICHEN GUMBO - ALTERED VILLAGE (LP/IKUISUUS)

Lichen Gumbo's album 'Altered Village' is an eight-song ode to Siilinjärvi. On the record, straightforward rock is overshadowed by metallic banging, crumbles in electric mud and is suffocated in Savonian turf. The cabin fever-sound world has been created in two-room flat of an apartment building in Vantaa and within the unique circumstances of Stockholm Electron Music Studio. Olli Aarni, an artist working in the international field of experimental music, is responsible for Lichen Gumbo's sound worlds. The compositions are provided by Ville Oinonen, a singer-guitarist at Atom Mouth Gimlies. Edition of 200 copies, co-released with Artsy Records, Jumatsuga and Lal Lal Lal.

OVERLAPS - IN YOUR ROOM (LP/TIME TO KILL)

The second album by alternative rock band Overlaps shows an evolution not only in terms of sound, but also in terms of writing compared to the previous album. Many songs are inspired by some incisive experiences that the band lived in 2019 during the European tours in which it took part.

PUNK/HARDCORE

JOHNNY MOPED - WILD BREED: LIVE AT THE ROXY 1977 (7"/LAST YEAR'S YOUTH)

Unreleased tracks recorded live at the legendary Roxy Club in London, March 31, 1977. SIDE 1: 1. Incendiary Device 2. No One SIDE 2: 1. Groovy Ruby 2. Wild Breed

VIBRATORS - BAD TIME (7"/LAST YEAR'S YOUTH)

Scheduled for release in March 1977, their second 7" was withdrawn when the Vibrators changed labels. Only a few acetates exist. This is an essential piece of lost vintage U.K. punk rock, limited to 500 copies.

VIBRATORS - MORE VIBES: THE LOST THIRD ALBUM DEMOS (LP/LAST YEAR'S YOUTH)

After the release of 'V2' The Vibrators were up to some major changes when John Ellis and Gary Tibbs left the band. Nonetheless they didn't waste much time and entered several demo studios in London with new recruits Greg Van Cook and Ben Brierly to prepare songs for a proposed third album. When Epic dropped the band and Knox left, too, the project fell through and the songs remained in the vaults. Now here is a collection of twelve demos that have never been released on vinyl before showcasing that the Vibrators had not lost their greatness in spite of troubled times! SIDE 1: 1. Judy Says 2. Fighter Pilot 3. Splitting Up 4. Ticket To Paradise 5. Pushin' Too Hard 6. Eye Witness SIDE 2: 1. Noise Boys 2. Going Uptown 3. She's A Boy 4. Rain Rain Rain 5. One Time 6. Vipers In The Dark

METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

MEPHISTOFELES - SATAN SEX CEREMONIES (CD/FORBIDDEN PLACE)

'Satan Sex Ceremonies' is the third studio album by Argentinian stonerheads and riff mongers Mephistofeles. Recorded at Dracula's Castle, Romania with an AKAI 4000DS. Mixed by Mephistofeles at Evil Fidelity Sound Lab Studio in Argentina. Mastered by Count Dantula and Igor. Art design by WOM. Fans of Electric Wizard, Sleep, Black Sabbath, Dead Meadows and Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats will definitely love this.

SHOCKPROOF - THE WILL THE REASON AND THE WIRE (CD/TIME TO KILL)

With Rome-based thrash metal trio Shockproof's third full-length album, a nonstop race begins in the maze of everyone's experience in search of aggression and anger that can be fused for a life lived fully and in the best way. Fast sound, old school, with some thrash influences, mixed with other sounds, for lovers of bands like Anthrax, Motörhead, Voivod, with some punk and hardcore references
