More BURNSIDE, R.L....

BURNSIDE, R.L. - BURNSIDE ON BURNSIDE (LIVE)

This is a restorative: pure slide 'n' drone blues caught live in January 2001 at Portland, Oregon's Crystal Ballroom. The 73-year-old is joined by his usual jukehouse band, his drummer and grandson Cedric Burnside and guitarist Kenny Brown, who blow sparks behind Burnside's ... read more »

BURNSIDE, R.L. - MISSISSIPPI HILL COUNTRY BLUES

This bad man of the Delta Blues recorded these traditional acoustic versions of some of his best know songs between 1967-'82. Now the first ever LP of these recordings is pressed on 180-GRAM VINYL.

BURNSIDE, R.L. - WISH I WAS IN HEAVEN SITTING DOWN

BACK IN PRINT IN VINYL. Should-be legend and blues mysterian Burnside avenges his own birth with more songs of loss and regret. This is perhaps his strongest work.

More on the FAT POSSUM label...

DIGITAL LEATHER - WARM BROTHER

The band's 1st proper studio record, after releases on Goner, FDH, & Tic Tac Totally.

ROYAL TRUX - WHITE STUFF

The year 2019 marks the glorious return of noise'n'roll legends Royal Trux. Showcasing influences from world music, punk rock, jazz, metal, electronic, southern, teeny-bop and all the rest, 'White Stuff' features the band's first fresh recordings since 2000.

CLAY, OTIS - I CAN'T TAKE IT

Universally hailed as Chicago's deep soul king. Signing with One-derful Records in 1965, he issued a series of gospel-tinged soul records that were a lot grittier than the customary Windy City soul sound.

RED, LOUISIANA - DEAD STRAY DOG

LOUISIANA RED recorded numerous songs throughout the 1960s, though he might be best known for his 1964 Billboard singles hit 'I'm Too Poor To Die'. His 'Louisiana Red Sings The Blues' album released in 1972 didn't sell well, and Red was subsequently dropped by his label. ... read more »

BELFOUR, ROBERT - PUSHIN' MY LUCK

Reissue of a fine 2003 blues album. Belfour strictly plays acoustic blues, but he plays it with the same dark, trancelike feel of Junior Kimbrough, haunting spookiness of Fred McDowell, rhythmic intensity of John Lee Hooker, and sprawling drawl of Lightnin' Hopkins.

HOOPS - COOL 2

This young band out of Bloomington, Indiana has packed serious chops and great hooks into an effortless, laid back '70s-California-via-chillwave sound.
