With a style fitting halfway between surf music and balladry,
this record revisits the effervescent Khmer musical scene of
the 1960s. In 1959, in the midst of artistic turmoil, Mol
Kamach and his brothers founded the band Baksei Cham Krong.
Kagnol got his guitar inspiration from The Ventures and The
Shadows while Kamach, who sung in either French or Khmer,
admired crooners such as Paul Anka. In 1975, Khmer Rouge made
an end to the country's musical developments. This reissue
however brings back the vibes of Cambodian scene of the 1960s.
