His albums range from "clair obscure" solo acoustic introspection to fully orchestrated drama. Following the bittersweet, semi-acoustic tones of the acclaimed 'Passiontide,' released in 2020, Johan Asherton returns with 'Matinee Idols,' a more rock oriented album that conveys his love for Golden Era Hollywood cinema throughout a series of '50s and '60s influenced vignettes ranging from sheer rock'n'roll, pop rock, torch song and even cabaret.
