Executive Suite
Executive Suite 1
Exact repro vinyl reissue of an underrated US soul LP from 1974. Recorded at the famous Sigma studio's and produced by an assortment of Philly's finest (incl. Norman Harris, Phil Hurtt and Bunny Sigler) this tasteful Philly soul-album was released by Polydor in 1974. The record contains some of the quartet's singles (1972's 'I'm A Winner Now', 'When The Fuel Runs Out', 'Your Love Is Paradise' and 'You Believed In Me') which were launched through a.o. Babylon Records and North Bay, companies that lacked the financial means to give these potent singles the attention they deserved. As a result these tunes didn't lead to chart success, though some of them managed to gain cult status in various club scenes. By the way, Executive Suite was the Philly group that Daryl Hall contributed vocals to on their first single ('Christine', for Jubilee Records) in 1970. The members were Vincent Unto, Henry Tuten, William Tyler, and Charles Conyers. Unto and Tyler previously sang with The Millionaires on Castle Records, Tyler also sang with The Jewels, and Conyer with The Lovenotes.
