Haven Green

Beyond A Shadow Of A Doubt

In the mid-eighties Steve Somerset was living in London and working as part of the creative team for Kevin Godley and Lol Creme at their video production company Medialab. He was living in Ealing near a green space called Haven Green and thought The Haven Green sounded like the name of a late sixties band; he even came up with a title for their album 'To Whom It May Concern' released in April 2022. 'Beyond A Shadow Of A Doubt' is the follow up. For The Haven Green's second outing, Steve Somerset has expanded his original idea and given it a twist. Take a pinch of psych, add a cup of pop, mix in a handful of your favourite '60s rock influences, let it simmer and without the shadow of a doubt you have the new album by The Haven Green. This second album is more reflective. There's a hint of autumnal melancholy to the songs but also a playful post-modern sensibility. Listen to 'The Stars Shine Of Their Own Accord', a track that mixes Ravi Shankar with Joe Meek.
