Jim Of Seattle

We Are All Famous

Jim of Seattle makes a lot of different kinds of music. Somehow it all fits. Take some Van Dyke Parks, stir in some Beach Boys, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Dr. Suess and maybe youve got a start. Hmm. You might as well toss in Mancini, They Might Be Giants and Bjork while youre at it. Jim has been making music for 30-odd years. This is the first time he has committed any of it to disc. This is a surreal collection of animals, rainstorms and the end of the world. In 1981 he had a song on Seattle radio called "Laboratory Rat," just him, a piano and a crummy cassette recorder. A modern version lies within. Jim has a music degree from a reputable institution. He has written music for the stage, for films, for Disney. Despite that he covers a Rancid song. He also does an excellent version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with his formerly 2 yearold daughter. Jim plays almost all the music. He does almost all the singing. He recorded it. He wrote most of the songs. This is from Jims soul. Jim of Seattle makes music that is sometimes beautiful, sometimes odd, always just right.
