Lasting Weep

1969-1971

Lasting Weep is one of the formative groups of the Québec progressive scene, consisting of Jerôme Langlois and Alain Bergeron who were later to co-found Maneige, as well as Claude Chapleau on bass and Mathieu Legere on drums and percussion. The early music is proto-progressive/psych with influences from classical music and some resemblance to early Jethro Tull due to the prominent role of flute. While this early material is more proto-progressive in nature, this later work is very much in line with the best Maneige albums.
