Respected Peruvian trumpeter Betico Salas was a member of Sonora De Lucho Macedo, one of the best ensembles playing Cuban music in the early '60s. His first solo-LP, originally out in 1966 and now back on vinyl, features contributions from Alfredo Linares on piano and sonero vocals by Benny del Solar. The repertoire is a superb mixture of guarachas, guanguanc and even cumbias.
