Los Prisioneros

La Voz De Los 80

Los Prisioneros are by far the most representative group in the history of Chilean rock. The austerity of a music without virtuous pretensions, and lyrics full of sharp social observation were the soundtrack of youthful disenchantment in the midst of Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship, and today they maintain that validity that defines the classics. 'La Voz De Los 80,' their first album, was released independently by Sello Fusión in December 1984, and became a success and sales success that over the years was catalogued as the most important album of Chilean rock. Composed and produced by its vocalist, Jorge González, it marks the sound pattern of the '80s in Chile and Latin America, as a fundamental record material until today, which opens the fires with the generational anthem 'La Voz De Los 80,' to give way to other essential songs such as 'Latinoamérica Es Un Pueblo Al Sur De Estados Unidos,' 'Sexo,' 'Paramar' and 'Nunca Quedas Mal Con Nadie.'
