Originally dating back to 1984, the sole album by this post-punk/indie-rock band from Austin, Texas is now reissued on vinyl. A leaderless collective, Meat Joy was difficult to categorize. Often improvisational, the band moved fluidly among many genres seeking joy and truth. The sound was alternately queer and straight, dark and funny, heartfelt and biting! Teresa Nervosa would later become a member of the Butthole Surfers.
