Otsuki, Miyako
Japanese Folk Song Latin Feeling
Miyako Otsuki's groundbreaking 1973 album, blending traditional Japanese folk songs with Latin jazz, has been reissued 50 years later. Recorded in her 20s, Otsuki's powerful and emotive vocals shine alongside top-tier musicians like Akira Miyazawa and the Segami Yonosuke Group. Originally inspired by the NHK "Young Folk Songs" movement, the album features bold arrangements by Akira Komachi. This deluxe reissue includes two bonus tracks from the 1997 CD version and a retro-style dark blue obi, honoring its vintage roots.
