Last few copies! First-time reissue of this overlooked 1987 desert rock gem. Formed in Tucson in 1985, The Sidewinders fused jangly guitar pop with raw, rootsy energy. Cuacha! captures their early sound_loose, melodic, and sunbaked_before major label success and name-change drama. After signing to RCA/Mammoth, the band charted with Witchdoctor (1989), toured globally, and appeared on MTV, but legal battles over their name forced a rebrand to the Sand Rubies. Though briefly rising alongside peers like Gin Blossoms, the group folded in 1993. This reissue revives their spirited debut, a cult classic of Southwestern rock.
