Last Detail: Anthology 1967-2006 (18cd+dvd/book)

Solution was one of the crown jewels in the history of Dutch popular music of the '70s and '80s. After their first period as Soulution during the '60s, debuting as a free form progressive combo with jazz influences, their music evolved into typical seventies fresh and perfectly produced music - both vocal and instrumental. Solution's six studio albums bear the distinctive and typical sound of the era they were made in and meticulously cover the evolution of popular music over fifteen years. The band recorded two albums for EMI Records in 1971 and 1972 - 'Solution' and 'Divergence' - followed by their signing to Elton John's Rocket label and working with legendary producer Gus Dudgeon on two albums - 'Cordon Bleu' and 'Fully Interlocking.' In 1980 and 1982, Solution recorded two albums for CBS Records: 'It's Only Just Begun' and 'Runaway.' For the latter, the band worked with former Traffic drummer and additional singer Jim Capaldi. This record turned out to be their swan song, followed by a career spanning live album released in 1983, the year that the band split up. In 2006, the band reunited for two gigs at Club Panama in Amsterdam, which has been released on DVD. 'Last Detail' is the definitive Solution anthology, presenting their complete recorded works between 1969 and 2006 on 18 CDs and 1 DVD, all sourced from the original master tapes. Along with all of the group's albums and singles, the collection includes a trove of previously unreleased outtakes and rare live recordings. 'Last Detail' also includes a lavishly illustrated 276-page hardcover coffee table book with detailed liner notes by biographer and archivist Wouter Bessels, along with hundreds of full colour and black/white photos and reproductions of picture sleeves, posters, ads, magazine and newspaper articles and other rare Solution memorabilia, including material culled from the personal archives of the band members.
