Tezeta
Seventh Place
Klang Tone Records reissues Tezeta's debut album, 'Seventh Place.' Originally formed in Bristol in 2014, Tezeta was an 8-piece instrumental collective blending Ethiopian jazz, Afrobeat, prog, and improvisation. Emerging from the Bloom Collective, they evolved from playing Mulatu Astatke-inspired tunes to creating their own hypnotic sound. Led by composer and pianist Daniel Inzani, the band featured a lineup of top local musicians and became known for their virtuosic performances and wild ensemble jams. Their debut 'Seventh Place' was first self-released in 2016 and quickly gained cult status. Klang Tone Records now brings this lost gem to vinyl, calling it "a beguiling mix of styles" that deserves a wider audience.
