Tritonus
Tritonus
Tritonus from Mannheim are sometimes compared to Emerson, Lake & Palmer, but they were definitely independent. At the keys was Peter Seiler, who later had a good run with many of his own releases and gigs and is still active today, mainly in the field of electronics. Here's a reissue of their first album from 1975, taken from the master tapes. It comes with a booklet of 24 pages in LP size.

Tritonus
Between The Universes
Tritonus from Mannheim are sometimes compared to Emerson, Lake & Palmer, but they were definitely independent. At the keys was Peter Seiler, who later had a good run with many of his own releases and gigs and is still active today, mainly in the field of electronics. Here's a reissue of their second album from 1976, taken from the master tapes. It comes with a booklet of 28 pages in LP size.

Tibet
Porta Westfalica 1975
Tibet from Werdohl in the Sauerland were founded in 1970/71, but only released their only 7" single in 1976 and their only studio LP in 1979. On July 13th, 1975, they performed at the Goethe open air stage in Barkhausen, which now belongs to Porta Westfalica, an artificial structure created by the planners' brains in 1973. The performance was professionally recorded and has now been remastered by Eroc. Only the last track comes from another source. The sound of the LP is flawless. Tibet played progressive rock in the style of the seventies. Worth mentioning: Only one track of the performance ('Fight Back') is known from the Tibet LP. The 48-page LP booklet contains, among other things, a very readable review by Jürgen Krutzsch of his time with Tibet. The Bellaphon LP by Tibet is well known. Here comes an instrumental live gig from 1975 in top sound quality.

Oresund Space Collective
Alotta Hella Down In Estrela (2lp/black)
This is the 34th studio album by the Oresund Space Collective. Following in the footsteps of previous albums this one starts off with an epic 50 minute track that takes into the depths of space and back in under an hour. 'Slow To Fast First Rays' is a beautiful melodic piece of music and then halfway, picks up into an uptempo jam, a bit funky at times, a bit dissonant. 'Weberian Bass' is a sort of hypnotic piece with fantastic guitar lines and synth textures to support the track. Limited to 250 copies on black vinyl.

Krautfuzz
Live At The Church (feat. J Mascis)
Sulatron Records is proud to announce the release of a very promising new band in the scene, which is like a melting pot of the current and old psychedelic-kraut-noise scene in Germany! And this Krautfuzz album is nothing less than a super intense psychedelic noise fest with guitarlegend J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr.! The improvisational band Krautfuzz, with Imari Kokubo on drums, Dirk Dresselhaus on guitar and occasional vocals, and Derek Shirley on bass, is embossed by an angular-futuristic tension, spanning from fuzzed-out neo-psych-rock, abstract, heavily processed minimalism to pure noise, and is open at the fringes, which also means that they usually invite surprise guests from diverse musical backgrounds for their live shows to play energetic, dynamic, and time-transcending music without a safety net while giving some extra attention to communication in-between each other as well as to the individual subconsciousness. Illustrious guest performers so far were Murat Ertel (Baba Zula), experimental sax player André Vida, Eleni Poulou (ex-The Fall) and Hilary Jeffery (Zeitkratzer), Xambuca's Chandra Shukla on processed e-sitar, and J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.), who contributed a bunch of his outstanding electric guitar performances in the second part of this live recording, which organically blend into the transcendental sound approach of Krautfuzz. As the three core members come from a variety of musical activities with the likes of Schneider TM, Faust, Die ANGEL, Locust Fudge, The Still, Monno, Vladislav Delay Quartet, Piratezombiedog or Hi-Speed Dubbing, the premise is to reduce stylistic concepts to their essence, implement moments of CHANCE and allow inspiration from unexpected styles such as contemporary classical or stochastic music. What started with occasional studio sessions in late 2022 has so far led to 5 regular Krautfuzz releases and some live shows that left enthusiastic audiences behind. Performed and recorded live on June 15th 2024 at Ev. Kirchengemeinde Genezareth, Berlin. Live mix and recording: Jaike Stambach. Studio mix: Dirk Dresselhaus (@ ZONE, Berlin). Mastering: Jan Fabritius. Cover layout and art: iLan katin. Photography: Clydell Heidrich. Comes on black 180 grams recycled wax made in Germany, limited to 500 copies!

Asakawa, Maki/yasuhiro Abe
Kohi Hitotsu/night Fish
Two popular songs of Showa pop put on 7-inch for the first time. On side A Japanese folk/psych rock staple of the '70s, and on the flip a classic synth-pop tune by Yasuhiro Abe.

A/lpaca
Laughter
After the success of their first Sulatron Records LP and CD 'Make It Better' from 2021 this album is ready to blow your mind! A/lpaca are a psych-punk band formed in 2018 in Mantova, Italy. In these four years spent electrifying venues and festivals across Europe, the UK, and the US (notably including their participation at SXSW in Austin, Texas), A/lpaca have continued writing music, evolving their sound - moving away from "psych" to incorporate more electronic elements - while staying true to their kraut origins and their "sonic" spirit, two of the traits that define them. The themes have also evolved: "The concept of the album," they say, "is probably a continuation of 'Make It Better.' The difference is that the temporary remedy for life, the thing that saves for a while, is no longer music, the club, the concert, and an artistic world to discover and live in, but only the presence of friends, the blurring effect of drinks, and the 'laughter' that pushes away responsibility and the everyday grind." Compared to their debut, A/lpaca have grown both artistically and personally. They've had new experiences and met people who have influenced their way of thinking and writing music. "We've listened to a lot of experimental and electronic music, and met many people from this 'underground' world. Of course, we also continued listening to a lot of punk and other genres closer to our style. We also organized concerts for two years at Arci Tom, and that experience was undoubtedly important for our approach to the new tracks. The fact that it took us so long to make this second album is due to the fact that the process, with its ups and downs, with songs we were initially excited about and others we no longer care for, was quite natural. We wanted to offer something more diverse while still staying true to our compositional style, which relies heavily on melody, riffs, and repetition." "Laughter is something we confront with, understand, and accept all the sides of ourselves that both distinguish and unite us." Comes on black 180 grams recycled wax made in Germany, limited to 500 copies!

Agnes Strange
Strange Flavour
Guitar driven psychedelic hard-rock, heavy blues and proto-metal by this power-trio from Southampton. This is their sought-after album from 1975. Agnes Strange was a bluesy hard-rock trio active during the mid-1970s. The band consisted of John Westwood on guitar and vocals, Alan Green on bass and vocals, and Dave Rodwell on drums/vocals. In 1975, they released their sole album, 'Strange Flavour,' on the small BirdsNest label, linked to a chain of pubs/brewing firm. The album showcased their blend of hard-rock, blues and experimental/psychedelic influences, drawing comparisons to bands like Status Quo, Budgie, and Hawkwind. Despite their energetic style and musical talent, the album did not achieve significant commercial success. It's clear that some other labels like Vertigo or Harvest would have been a better home for them. RIYL: Budgie, Taste, Hendrix, Status Quo, Sabbath, Stooges. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Sourced from the original masters. Insert with liner notes by original producer/manager Dave Travis and rare photos/memorabilia.

Bolder Damn
Mourning
Absolute monster when talking about US hard-rock/proto-doom private pressings. Hailing from Florida, Bolder Damn released this beast in 1971. Ultra-heavy, "raw-in-your-face" sound with loud fuzzed-out guitar, solid rhythm section and manic vocals. Bolder Damn formed in 1969 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The original lineup consisted of John Anderson on vocals and rhythm guitar, Glenn Eaton on lead guitar, Ron Refett on bass, Mark Gaspard on keyboards, and Bob Eaton on drums. Initially performing covers, they gradually incorporated original material into their sets. Their energetic live performances led them to open for notable acts such as Alice Cooper, MC5, The Amboy Dukes, and Blue Cheer. In 1971, after Gaspard's departure, the remaining members recorded their sole album, 'Mourning,' at Hyperbolic Studios in Florida. The recording session lasted only four hours, resulting in a raw, in-your-face heavy sound. The album was privately pressed with approximately 200 copies distributed mainly to friends, family, and local fans. Side 2 featured the 16-minute epic 'Dead Meat,' which reflects the band's heavy, proto-doom style, reminiscent of contemporaries like Black Sabbath and Blue Cheer. In 1972 Anderson and Refett were drafted into military service during the Vietnam War, leading to Bolder Damn's dissolution. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve + obi. Remastered sound. Fold-out insert with liner notes/interview with singer John Anderson and rare pictures. Download card included. RIYL: Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer, Pentagram, MC5, Sainte Anthony's Fyre...

Refaim
Heut (black)
Refaim came into life in the beginning of 2022. A shared interest in animism, ancient rituals and psychedelic music have drawn Refaim's members from the deep sheol of Kiryat Hamelacha in southern Tel Aviv. Taking inspiration from Aldous Huxley's notes on his mescaline trip, Refaim have found the Hebrew term of 'Heut' (Isness), as the best microcosm for their musical trip. The music of 'Heut' is a synergy between the different musical aesthetics of Refaim's members - King Isxan's Yuval Manor (guitar) has a passion for kraut and middle eastern sounds, Roni G (drums) is a total Dead-head, and probably jerry Garcia's descendant, Elvin Shelly (bass) brings an austere punk rock attitude, and multi-instrumentalist Yotam Aloof offers his genuine composition skills. Their vision was conceived into a full album in one humid and sunny Levantine weekend, recorded live by Assaf Shahar (King Isxan/Häxxan). It was then mixed and mastered by Erik Wofford (The Black Angels/Holy Wave). 'Heut' is a fascinating neo-psychedelic rock nugget, which will appeal to fans of such bands as Spacemen 3, Kikagaku Moyo, Minami Deutsch, Föllakzoid, Wooden Shjips, Dead Skeletons and The Asteroid #4.

Miss Mellow
Dancing Through The Earth (black)
If there's one characteristic that makes the four-piece band stand out, it's easy to spot: having fun with music. Miss Mellow has been exploring psychedelic soundscapes since its formation in 2019. It's in the playground of the '70s where the band has found its home. The band's sound blends krauty psych with sprawling jam parts, where clean funk ensnares dirty fuzz and fat stoner riffs meet psychedelic escapades. Despite all the differences, the harmonious interplay within the musical diversity is captivating and invites you to both dance and dive in. The Munich-based band released their highly acclaimed debut album in 2023. An overwhelming online response was followed by a vinyl pressing, which was also echoed in the German media landscape. According to Legacy magazine, the record was "great tennis in terms of arrangement," but at the same time "pleasantly unacademic and acceptable to the majority." Miss Mellow's psychedelic sounds are dressed in more progressive garb than ever before, a wild yet harmonious fusion ride through the earth's core - where you're never really safe from pleasant surprises.

More Experience
Horizons Of Events

Cosmic Garden Project
Red Sand Blue Soil (black)
With this album Cosmic Garden Project are leaving earth to find new values and other dimensions, musically and spiritually. Exploring the map of Mars as visual inspiration for both lyrics and sound. A 4 piece travelling together through unseen soundscapes, coloured with their specific psychedelic sound built on folk, ambient and psychedelic rock. Their musical roots are in TGS, International Harvester and Älgarnas Trädgård.
GARAGE/BEAT/SURF/ROCK’N’ROLL

Romeo, Tony -& The Creampies-
Autumn Song/lost My Faith
The latest sinsation from Detroit is Tony Romeo and the Creampies. They check in with #14 in I-94 Recordings' Detroit covers series. Tony returns to his lead vocal roots after having taken up bass duties (Trash Brats/Easy Action) for many years. He fronted Just Born back in the mid '80s and is joined here by Just Born alum David "Nice" Sylvester. Also joining are fellow Trash Brats alumni Ricky Rat and Brian McCarty (nee O'blivion) on guitar and bass respectively. Tony and Brian swapped out their roles in Trash Brats for the Creampies. Rounding out the sticky mess (meant in the most loving, messiest way possible) is drummer Jason Pearce. Jason is another Detroit scene veteran who has done time in Feisty Cadavers, The Highborn and many others. Currently he is also drumming for Temple Of Void where he was named one of the top 10 doom metal drummers of all time by Loudwire who knows about such things. Far from doom metal this is high energy punk rock and roll. The A-side updates Tony and Dave's Just Born classic 'Autumn Song.' Dave says about said song - "This version is leaps and bounds beyond our original and is how I always heard it in my head." On the flipside sticking with the Detroit cover theme of the I-94 Recordings singles is their take on the Junk Monkeys' classic 'Lost My Faith.'

Strains
Running The Lines/checkin' Out
This is the 16th entry in the Detroit covers series from I-94 Recordings. The Strains really bring the hard hitting, blue collar Detroit rock'n'roll with the impassioned original on the A-side and an inspired cover on the flip of a Torpedos classic (originally from 1979). Paul Grace Smith fronts The Strains on lead vocals and guitar. He is originally an Ohioan (Cincinnati) but has transplanted to the Motor City after spending time in Germany fronting the esteemed Dumbell. The rest of the "core" of The Strains is made up of more Ohioans (Dayton), with Jamy Holliday (guitar and vocals) and the mother/son tandem of Gretta Smak (guitar and vocals) and Kellen Mutter (bass and vocals). The drum stool features a rotating cast depending upon where the band is playing and who is available: Al King (featured in photos on the record), Illi Vassiliadis and Lionn Van Der Horst. Although the band is full of Ohio (you may know Jamy from Luxury Pushers, Mystery Addicts, Haunting Souls, or El No or Gretta from the Muzzies), this is very much a Detroit band. The Strains move like a gang, always travelling in a pack, ready to have one another's back if needed. They are like the Motor City Partridge Family. Their live show is loud and ferocious and full of energy.

Galileo 7
Look Away/over The Horizon
Medway power-pop-psych legends The Galileo 7 deliver their first official 45 since 2019, and their debut for Rogue Records. Ex-Prisoner Allan Crockford leads his crew through 2 sparkling originals, chock full of the group's trademark vocal harmonies and layers of guitar and keyboards. 'Look Away' is an urgent stomper, highlighting the uncertain and often troubling times we live in, while 'Over The Horizon' offers some optimism to navigate the troubling waters ahead, concluding "Our bad luck can't last forever."

Thee Strawberry Mynde
Reflections
From the North East of England Thee Strawberry Mynde bring their own brand of psychedelic garage soul to the world through this four track EP on Rogue Records. The three piece include an ex-member of Jarvis Humby in their ranks. They are aided and abetted, on blues harp, for two of the numbers, by the legendary Jim Riley from Wipeout. Each of the four original tracks captures the electric live energy of the band and are primed ready to feed your mynde.
POP/ROCK/WAVE/NOISE

Null & Void
Possibilities (discoverable Thoughts)
The third, previously unreleased album by this early '80s culturcide-damaged crew from Fullerton, California, led by William Shifflette is an avant pop post punk experimental acid masterwork, a truly endless piece of music by an overlooked band that was never properly released in its time (after being rejected by head-scratching label exes). After being shelved for 30 years, Bunkerpop (specialised in archival releases/reissues) released the record! LP includes a large double-sided colour poster and lyrics booklet.

Coitus Int.
Coitus Int.
Spawing as a reaction to the lack of creativity among punk bands in Utrecht at the time of the original release of their debut album (1981), this legendary Dutch quartet embraced an approach slower, darker, and more bass-driven than on their 'Dead Excitement' EP from 1980. The bass of Heino is the lead melodic instrument here, while Gang Of Four-inspired attacks issue from the guitar. The drums churns the heaviness in different directions, particularly on tracks like 'Birds' and 'My Ideal Man'. But it's the thoughtful lyrics and unique voice that separate the group from rest; delivering a distance but honest, with a tone that makes you feel like hthe vocalist'd seen things you don't and may never understand. Musically it resonates with elements of Pere Ubu, Joy Division, Gang Of Four, and Flipper.

?fog
7-inch Round Black Thing
?Fog was a chaotic, art-punk band from Auckland, New Zealand, formed in 1984 by Roger Allen and Lindsay McKay, later joined by Sam Swan. Known for their anarchic style, absurd performances (including egg-hatching and fire-breathing), and anti-mainstream ethos, they became a hub for underground art through their collective, ?Fog City Enterprises. Their only official release, '7-Inch Round Black Thing,' came out in 1985. Loved by some, loathed by others - ?Fog embodied confrontational creativity in New Zealand's punk scene. Reissued by Bunkerpop in 2018.

Slits
Live At The Gibus Club (black)
'RECORDED LIVE AT THE GIBUS CLUB, PARIS, JANUARY 26 1978' - The Slits' Live at the Gibus Club is pure, unfiltered chaos. Recorded in Paris on 26 January 1978, it captures the band at their wildest-raw, untamed, and ready to explode. Just 14 years old, Ari-Up howls through 'So Tough,' 'Love And Romance,' and 'Shoplifting' like she's starting a riot. Palmolive (drums), Viv Albertine (guitar), and Tessa Pollitt (bass) slash and pound through a jagged, off-the-rails set that feels like it could collapse at any moment. The crowd is tense, the banter is sharp, and the energy is electric. This isn't just a live album-it's a time capsule of pure punk fury. Essential.

Ahoe-ahoea
True Love Never Dies
Ahoe-Ahoea started and ended in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. They were short-lived and little-known, and their footprint in the history of Dutch DIY might have escaped detection if not for their self-released cassette in 1983. Relative to that of its surrounding countries, the '80s post punk/"DIY" scene of The Netherlands remains largely unexplored. If the famous 'Messthetics' series had focused on the Dutch instead of the English, surely Ahoe-Ahoea would have found a place on Issue #101. Determined not to take themselves too seriously, they performed their first show as Na Een Keer Oefenen (After One Rehearsal) before eventually choosing the name Ahoe-Ahoea, a reference to the Tarzan films of the 1930s. The band's playfulness and sense of humor is an important part of their approach, but these elements are carefully balanced with sincerity, great songwriting and brilliant lyrics. While the opening track hinges on the ululating yell of Tarzan, as portrayed by actor Johnny Weissmuller in the film from 1932, it also explores themes of genocide, racism, the destruction of culture and the melding of totalitarianism and ignorance. A lyrics sheet is included. Read it. The TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES LP is a reissue of Ahoe-Ahoea's outstanding and under-circulated cassette from 1983. Package includes lyrics sheet, photos, and notes from the band.

Girls At Our Best!
Pleasure (black)
Girls At Our Best! were one of the greatest and most influential bands to emerge in the early 1980s as part of a new wave of independent acts. DJ John Peel championed them, playing their singles repeatedly and inviting them to record a session for his programme. Wry vocalist Judy Evans and brutal yet melodic guitarist James Alan who'd met at art college in Leeds fronted Girls At Our Best!, the proto-indie band that formed from the ashes of Alan's 1977 punk band SOS! Pleasure, the sole album, reached number two in the Indie Chart. It was an album so different from the rest of the post-punk indie pack that you can still play it now and completely baffle new listeners. As John Peel said about Roxy Music, it just doesn't seem to relate to anything else.

Robert (nz)
Robert The Record
Robert emerged from the ashes of anarchic punk collective ?Fog, active in Auckland's underground scene from 1984. Originally formed by Roger Allen and Lindsay McKay, and later joined by vocalist Sam Swan, the group thrived in the chaos of The Red House_a hub for experimental art and music. Known for confrontational performances and a fluid lineup, they released a 7" EP in 1985 before rebranding as Robert. With support from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council, they recorded and self-released 'Robert The Record' in 1986. This 40th anniversary reissue includes a 16-page full color booklet of photos and an interview conducted by Stuart Page (THE AXEMEN) with band members Roger Fogorelli and Lindsay Fog. Plus, a reprint of the bonus questionnaire that was included in the original release.

Akimoto, Naomi/anli & Moses
Long Summer Vacation/fuyu No Mado
Japan's King of Diggin' (Muro) took another deep dive in the crates to come up with a carefully selected 7-inch release on Fourth Wave. For this 45, he chose the light-hearted pop song from 1986 'Long Summer Vacation' on side A, and the Japanese funky track 'Fuyu No Mado' from 1977 on the flip.
PUNK/HARDCORE

Teenage Frames
Fighting Words/factory Man
Coming in at #15 in the Detroit cover series from I-94 Recordings, is the poppy punk of the Teenage Frames. Teenage Frames have been in this rock and roll game for 30 years. They first came on the I-94 radar in the '90s where they would make regular visits to Detroit from their Chicago home. They even had a song 'Back To Motor City.' Sometime shortly after 2000 the band moved out west to Hollywood (swimming pools, movie stars). The Frames just released what is perhaps their magnum opus 'Everything Has Lead To This.' The A-side is one of the hits from that one, specifically mastered for vinyl by Detroit's Jim Kissling. 'Fighting Words' is a perfect anthem for these divisive times. Their choice of a Detroit cover song was quite serendipitous. Back 25 years ago they used to enjoy gigging with Detroit band The Gutterpunx. They even demoed one of their songs, 'Factory Man,' to cover way back when but never got around to it. Going back and knocking out a finished version years later they have come full circle because "Everyone Needs Some Detroit in Their Rock and Roll!"

Dogs (usa)
Inside Out/nothin' To Do In Detroit
The Dogs are one of the longest running active rock and roll bands in America. Inspired by the Detroit sound of the MC5, they formed in Lansing in 1968 and shortly thereafter moved down to Detroit. In 1974 they played an ill fated gig in Toledo sharing a bill with Bob Seger. Apparently Bob wanted to play early and go home because he was tired, which was not how the running order of the bill was scheduled. The Dogs were set to play and Seger's team said they needed to let Bob play now. Well the Dogs played anyway and Toledo Police were brought in to stop their set. After some mayhem and billyclubbing, some of The Dogs and their contingent went to jail that night, charged with inciting a riot! But the worst part was upon returning to Detroit, they found that Seger's management had blackballed them, no Detroit club would book them. So they packed up and moved to New York City. It was an exciting time to be in NYC with their burgeoning music scene. They got to play shows at CBGBs with The Ramones. They got to play with Television, Kiss, The Dictators and the Stilettos (featuring members who went on to Blondie). Then they moved to Los Angeles, playing numerous shows, including supporting AC/DC in 1975 (their American debut). They are definetly a motor city Detroit rock band but have resided in Los Angeles for many years. They are well known for their 1978 single 'Slash Your Face' which was included on the first volume of the 'Killed By Death' series (records that compiled early, rare punk singles). The members have been involved in different projects over the years (Little Caesar, Slamdinistas, Cruzados, She-Rok, Glitter Trash, Texas Terri's Babybird - Loren cowrote her best song 'Oh Yeah'), but always return to the Dogs. The record cover was drawn by esteemed artist Brian Walsby and reflects different folks they have played with over the years. How many can you spot? This is the #17 release in I-94 Recordings' Detroit covers series. The Dogs chose to cover the short lived Ramrods. The Ramrods had some interest from Sire Records in the punk heydey, but nothing came to fruition and they broke up in January of 1978, having only recorded 6 songs that were never officially released until 2004.

Sonic Dolls
Maximumsonicdoll
A previously unreleased album by the Sonic Dolls from Germany at their most energetic - 'Maximumsonicdoll'! Recorded at their peak in 2000, only a few tracks saw the light of day on compilations and various 7" releases at the time. This is a hard-hitting punk rock album, in every sense the missing link between centuries in your Sonic Dolls collection or punk rock history itself. Cover painting by none other than Dee Dee Ramone, Paul Kostabi, and Jesse Bates (2001). Includes a 60x60 cm poster. Comes on blue marbled vinyl.

Zig-zags
Deadbeat At Dawn
Zig-Zag's fifth incendiary full-length LP, 'Deadbeat At Dawn,' is named in honor of the beloved B-movie, a no-budget action revenge flick set in the mean streets of suburban Ohio. Cult cinema is an enduring Zig-Zags inspiration, with the band frequently calling out exploitation films in their lyrics, odes to teen-delinquent classics like 'Over The Edge' and dystopian sci-fi such as 'Terminator' and 'Total Recall.' This album sticks to this obsession with the cultural underground, riffing on everything from demonic minions to apocalyptic visions and alien attacks. The opening track 'Not Of This World' is described by Maheu as, "a fighting-back-against-the-aliens song." The propulsive heavy jammer 'At War With Hell' fights the devils on their own satanic turf. The thrash power anthem, 'Take Me To Your Leader,' is - as Maheu explains, "about how we're always talking about the environment and going to Mars, then some aliens show up here and say, 'Yo, your planet is way better than where we came from, so we're gonna fuck you up and take it!'" This album is undeniably Zig-Zags' at their most epic and enormous in both the performance and the production. "We definitely wanted a bigger overall sound with heavier guitars," Maheu explains of the record, "still very '80s, but clearer. Our influences were Metallica's 'Garage Days' as Judas Priest... really heavy but not overly distorted." The result is the most focused, intense, and catchy Zig-Zags album yet, with the timing perfect for their distinctly melodic and maniacal call to arms. Finalizing recording and mixing just as the catastrophic fires hit their hometown in L.A., 'Deadbeat At Dawn' is the perfect soundtrack for a city rising up from the ashes of destruction. "I feel lucky that we got to put out this record when we did," Maheu said, "It's heavy and gnarly and kind of fucked up, but it's also a lot of fun - which is how we feel about Los Angeles."

Es Is Zum Scheissn (+dvd)
'Es Is Zum Scheissn - Punk In Vienna 1977-1988' was a project cooked up by Thomas Reitmayer. The film came out in 2019, but blink and you missed it - it vanished from public view faster than a punk with a court date. Why? A spicy cocktail of copyright drama, personal beefs, public yelling matches, and a cast of very extroverted personalities. Classic punk chaos. From the get-go, there were dreams of dropping a soundtrack to go with it. The film had its premiere in a cozy Viennese indie cinema in October 2019, but then - plot twist - Thomas Reitmayer passed away suddenly in May 2020 from a heart attack. Total shocker. Fast forward a few years (because nothing punk happens on time), and now, finally, the LP is hitting the shelves - and it's bringing the film along for the ride on a bonus DVD! This resurrection is brought to you by the fine folks at Exil Records and Bachelor Records. The cover art was done by Robert Räudig (of Chuzpe fame), and the mastering was handled by Eric Brady from Windian Records - basically, it sounds amazing and looks like it could bite you.

Pancrace
Papotier (2lp)
The extraordinary third and final part of the 3x2LP triptych by France's most ambitious and audacious outfit, Pancrace. Penultimate Press is proud to unleash these radical sounds and shapes to this world and hope you enjoy the feeling of freedom resounding within this release, 'Papotier.'

Chapman, Oliver -& Phoebe Eccles-
Dog Fm
"Oliver Chapman and Phoebe Eccles' 'DOG FM' opens with the voice of a sat nav. It's swiftly confirmed that the listener is an eavesdropper in the back seat of a car as we hear a man and woman up front get increasingly perplexed by directions. Just as you get your bearings it lurches sideways, a door creaks and music starts to slurp out. From there come further eerie interludes and poetic spoken fragments from Eccles. Side B follows a similar pattern, opening again in the car, the two occupants are more exasperated. The scene dissolves once more. Eccles returns, her poetry now more urgent and insistent, while the music becomes increasingly contorted. In terms of method it's tied to the traditions of Hörspiel and radio plays, but 'DOG FM's surreal edge is also likely familiar if you've ever started falling asleep in the backseat of a car and your mind's jumbled up real and dream. Bizarre, cryptic, oddly beautiful and strangely familiar. 'DOG FM' is a captivating riddle to tune in to." ~The Quietus.

When Worlds Collide (2lp)
This is a limited double-LP collection of artists who've been on either Fourth Dimension Records or Lumberton Trading Company, or are even indirectly associated. The title, based on the name of a childhood '50s sci-fi film favourite, not only reflects the bringing together of these two labels but also the fact that most of the artists they are concerned with tend to navigate a wide range of ideas and approaches. The 2LP also began as a reflection of the two labels coming together on 18 May 2024 at London's Cafe OTO for an event featuring Alternative TV, Splintered, Edward Ka-Spel and Bass Communion. This was the third such label event in London and sold out. The album was initially supposed to tie in with this event but due to growing into something bigger and more expansive (and expensive!) has had to wait a while. The 2LP, beautifully packaged in a Puppy38 designed sleeve, includes the following artists mostly with exclusive tracks.

Tzesne
Receptores
A Tribute To What Should Not Be Heard - the always inspiring Basque artist, a master of 'transconscious' drone music (linking the unknown with our minds), explores the mysteries of shortwave capturings, low fi hiss eruptions, unrecognizable noises of all kinds, a true "ether-therapy"! In the words of the author: "'Receptores' explores what remains hidden in static, white noise, and interference, using them as the core of its sonic approach. Drawing from lost signals and out-of-range transmission residues, the album reveals the subtle sonic textures that emerge as waves fade away. More than just an experiment, 'Receptores' reclaims noise as the main subject, shaping an erratic and unpredictable soundscape. A work designed for those seeking textures beyond the conventional." After the stunning LP on Auf Abwegen a new work by the German/Swiss drone dreamteam, thematically based on the adventureous Apollo 13 mission (April 1970), when the three astronauts circled around the moon several days...=> an absorbing, cinematic space drone-drama in five chapters, different moods and changes, going deeper and deeper... (feat. samples from Dead Voices On Air). Bu.d.d.A. (short for "Bund Des Dritten Auges" = League of the Third Eye) is the duo of Emerge and B*Tong, whose sound has been described as "Troum meets Earth together with Eno." N (118 in this case, indicates how many works preceded this) is the project of Dortmund based guitarist Hellmut Neidhardt, member of Drone Rec. artist Multer and know for many immersive drone LPs...
METAL/STONER/HARDROCK

Voivod
Rrroooaaarrr
Voivod's second studio album, 'Rrröööaaarrr,' was released in 1986 on Noise Records. Blending thrash with industrial and electronic elements, it helped define their evolving sound. This album marked the band's early rise, including their first live shows in the U.S.

Voivod
Killing Technology
Voivod formed in Jonquière, Quebec, in 1982 and soon caught the attention of Metal Blade Records, leading to their 1984 debut, 'War And Pain.' Living on welfare in Montreal, they rehearsed daily, shaping their raw sound for 'Rrröööaaarrr.' After their gear was stolen, they funded the album through the legendary 'World War III' festival, where they signed with Noise Records. Their next release, 'Killing Technology' (1987), marked a major evolution, blending thrash, prog, and hardcore under producer Harris Johns in West Berlin.

Voivod
Dimension Hatross
Released on June 29, 1988, 'Dimension Hatröss' is Voivod's fourth studio album and a concept record following the adventures of their cyborg mascot, Korgull. Designed by drummer Michel Langevin, the artwork complements the album's futuristic themes. Selling over 70,000 copies worldwide, it was later ranked No. 78 on Rolling Stones Top 100 Metal Albums of All Time.

Angantyr
Indsigt
Five songs of intense black metal containing the essence of what Ynleborgaz wants to create both musically and lyrically, with personal insight on how the world shapes your thoughts and how your thoughts shape the world.

Spere
Eight - Led To The Beam
Spere was founded in 2023 as a two-piece project by members of the German black metal bands Horn and Halphas. Designed to be performed with only guitar, vocals, and drums, the band focuses on energetic, rhythmic structures and groove, combined with eerie arpeggios. This approach creates a dynamic and atmospheric soundscape, made more robust by varied drum fills and layered guitar effects transported via both guitar and bass amps. The debut album 'Eight - Led To The Beam' revolves around the narrative of eight fictional characters who became obsolete and met their end. Each song explores the stories of these characters, figures of will, faith, energy, or even those with despicable natures, who overstayed their welcome in this world. The band embraces an archaic visual style, centered around bronze hues, oil lamps, candlelight, and metallic artifacts, reflecting the themes of the album.

Bloodbark
Bonebranches
Repress in jewel case. Bloodbark is an anonymous project with no country of origin. The decision to remain anonymous stems from a desire to let the art present itself without any distractions. The story of Bloodbark began long ago, but came together recently; it is a connection of nature and music, of individuals and commonality. An intertwining of words, images and sound produced a harmony that gives place to everyone. Words tell the story that is carried through the wind, while the images invite all to visit the places that the sound paints inside the mind.

Bloodbark
Sacred Sound Of Solitude
While Bloodbark started as a perfect representation of the majestic in atmospheric black metal, it now evolved into a crisp, cold and yet more complex distinction of the majestic. However, it does not stray too far from atmospheric black metal but deepens its roots. All of this is accompanied by stunning photography of nature in winter and art that is not outsourced. This package is wrapped with a mix and master by Gabriele Gramaglia and released by Northern Silence Productions.

Faidra
Dies Irae
This EP compiles the two songs 'Ixion' and 'Phantasmagoria' that were previously only available from Faidra's Bandcamp site, as well as the new song 'Dies Irae,' together for the first time on physical format.

Nekyros
Nyxian Path
Nekyros was born from the need for a more direct, raw, and aggressive form of expression. Created and shaped alongside the recordings of Los Males Del Mundo, its intensity gave it a life of its own, establishing it as an independent entity while remaining tied to the same creative force

Bloody Valkyria
In Our Home, Across The Fog
From the shadowed ruins of fallen kingdoms, the one man army known as Bloody Valkyria ascends to new heights with its second album, entitled 'In Our Home, Across The Fog.' This chapter in the project's discography entwines the epic lore of Elden Ring with the aggressive beauty of extreme metal.

Eldamar
Astral Journeys Pt. Ii: Dissolution
Conceptually, Eldamar used to be inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien, heathenism, elven magic and nature. On the latest albums, however, this focus has shifted more towards existential themes and nonphysical experiences. The goal of Eldamar's art has always been to help listeners to open up to the music in an emotional way and combine the experience with their imagination. To that end, the combination of aural and visual impressions was and still is important. Where in the past Eldamar used the gorgeous nature paintings of Albert Bierstadt to help the listener to enter dream-like lands, this album, which is part two of a conceptual work, uses another magnificent painting by the Polish master of surreal art Mariusz Lewandowski to give the listener some visual cues as to what this album is about. As usual, the music and art are meant to speak for themselves, and listeners are encouraged to enter into their own spiritual journeys while listening to the new album.

Fyter
Fyter
Private press hard-rock Holy Grail from Arkansas, 1978. Guitar driven hard-rock with some cool psychedelic, southern rock and melodic AOR touches. Fyter was a hard-rock band from Morrilton, Arkansas, known for their self-released private album from 1978. The band consisted of Kevin Compton (bass), Travis Johnson (lead guitar), Mike Newman (vocals and rhythm guitar), and Duane Harlan (drums). Their music blended powerful hard-rock riffs and solos with psychedelic elements, drawing inspiration from artists like Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Hendrix, Stones, Who... The name "Fyter" was chosen through a creative process involving numerology and wordplay. They performed at various venues, including high school proms, community dances, and clubs. In 1978, Fyter recorded their self-titled album over three days in Oklahoma City. The album featured tracks like 'Where I Stand,' 'Monarch,' and '100-Watt Head.' The cover art, depicting the band being "arrested" by local police, was a collaborative effort with the North Little Rock Police Department. Only 1,000 copies were pressed, making it a rare collector's item today. First ever reissue. Remastered sound. Original artwork in hard cardboard sleeve. Insert with liner notes by Klemen Breznikar (It's Psychedelic Baby). Download card included.

Fyter
Flying
Previously unreleased second album by US hard-rock band Fyter. Comprised of demos recorded in the late '70s, this is a more sophisticated and "heavier" effort than their privately pressed debut from 1978. Superb hard-rock sound with devastating lead/twin guitars. Fyter was a hard-rock band from Morrilton, Arkansas, known for their self-released private album from 1978. Their music blended powerful hard-rock riffs and solos with psychedelic elements, drawing inspiration from artists like Led Zeppelin, Foghat, Hendrix, Stones, Who... After recording their debut album, 'Fyter,' the band started to work on a possible follow-up. Most of the tracks included here were recorded at a studio in Little Rock owned by a friend of the band except for few ones recorded at the band's four-track basement studio. The music contained on 'Flying' was there, waiting on tapes in various boxes, in various closets. After 40 years it finally arrives on vinyl. Remastered sound. Insert with liner notes and rare photos. Download card included.
